We’re getting closer to signing a lease with Liverpool City Council to reopen the equestrian facilities in Croxteth Park. Please support Bec in running the Manchester Half Marathon on 4th October, to help raise money for the fees that come along with signing this lease and the restoration of the property

We have news from Liverpool District Court re Gellings and the alleged rent arrears. This is what our landlord has been using to try and evict us over the last 3 years. We have denied any rent arrears throughout this and we were ready ready with evidence to take this to trial earlier this week.

The trial began on Monday 20th July, and then ended with a settlement later the same day. The result is that Gellings has a new lease, for five years and then renewable into the future following rent reviews. This means that the landlord have dropped the alleged rent arrears claim!

Fighting this has cost collectively almost £150,000, which we will not see any of back in damages. However, we feel this is a small price to pay to secure the future of Gellings.

Urban riding schools and livery yards like Gellings are at risk every day.

And it is only by standing together to fight against their closure that we can resist.

So a HUGE thank you to everybody who has contributed to the campaign to keep Gellings open. Our horses homes are secure and we can keep proving opportunities for people to learn to ride across Merseyside.

I’m doing something I never ever thought I could do, and training for a half marathon which I’ll be running in October, in aid of fundraising for us to reopen what was Croxteth Park riding school. After a very long 2 year battle, yesterday we spent the day with our legal team and finally we have secured a new lease. Gellings won’t be going anywhere.🥂

We want to thank everyone that supported us and came to all of our events. Onwards and upwards. 🐎

BONUS BALL 🥎 PLEASE READ

For anyone who currently participates in our monthly bonus ball, unfortunately, we will be stopping running this for now. This is due to the national lottery changing the way in which it is drawn (double draws). We therefore ask that you stop your standing order payments for this going forward. We may start something else similar to this in the future, so keep an eye out on our page.

We also just want to thank everyone who has taken part in this, and any other fundraising activities we have ran so far and will run in the future. We are extremely grateful for your continued support 💚🐴

Just a quick word to say thanks to everyone who supported Keith who was doing his 100 mile walk to raise money for the friends of Gellings. You may have had an email from crowd funding to say you were getting your donations refunded. Unfortunately Keith has suffered an injury and is resting up. He’s absolutely gutted not to be able to complete his challenge but very grateful for your donations
