Hi Everyone 🖐️🏸
Ahead of the new badminton season in September, we're looking to start a junior badminton session in addition to our popular adults session on a Thursday evening at Gwernyfed High School.
This is in direct response to the immense popularity of badminton locally at the moment. Our amazing friends at Llangorse Badminton Club are oversubscribed and our friends at Sport Powys continue to be amazed by the popularity of schools badminton.
One problem..... we're short of a few volunteers! So this is a call to anyone who's interested in helping out.... please drop us a message!
A little badminton knowledge is preferable, but not essential. Would be term-time only, Thursday evenings, for ~1 hour. The idea is to have a rotor of volunteers including coaches, young leaders and volunteers so the commitment can be shared! Anyone interested would need too pass a DBS check with Badminton Cymru - Wales, which the club can pay for.
Please drop us a message if interested - happy to share more info! Stay tuned for more updates from us.........

CORRECTION🤦
Just after making our last post we got an unexpected call from Gwernyfed High School saying we wont be able to use the hall this week or next. Very sorry about this everyone. So that means we will now break for the summer whilst Gwernyfed fix their sports hall roof, and return in September!
Apologies for the short notice and mixed messaging. We fully endorse a pint in a beer garden tonight as a sensible alternative to badminton! 👌

Happy Thursday Badminton Day 👋
Just to let you know - due to building work on the sports hall roof at Gwernyfed High School starting this week and continuing through the summer, our last two sessions of the season (today and next thrusday) will take place in the dining hall.
Next week will be the final session of a wonderful season. We will take a break over the summer and return in Spetember under the shiny new roof at Gwernyfed sports hall.
Hoping to see players later in the dining hall for a fun session. 🏸

At Bronllys Badminton Club we've been looking at our weather apps. They're telling us that thursday is going to be the hottest day of the week.
Whilst we're struggling to believe it can get hotter than today, we're thinking its not that sensible to be playing badminton on thursday.
So, due to the red weather alert, there will be no badminton this week, so everyone can get a tan instead. We'll see you all next week!

A reminder to everyone that after a few weeks in the school dining hall, badminton is back in the Gwernyfed High School sports hall this week 🎉
Looking forward to seeing everyone there - 6-7.30 pm! 🏸
