FREE NEOPRENE: We have around 50 wetsuits that have reached end of life. They'll be shipped over to England to one of the few places that recycle them, as we don't want them ending up in landfill. Before we do - is there anyone that can use the neoprene? They are often upcycled by talented crafty folk into bags, beer tin holders, support bandages etc. or shredded and used as insulation. If you would like some, PM us.

Unfortunately, due to a combination of business and personal reasons we’ve decided to hang up our wetsuit boots at Portstewart Strand. This has been a very hard decision, but we know for us, it’s the right one.

Ocean Warriors has been operating in Portstewart since the early 1990’s, and over that time we’ve met some amazing people and had a fantastic time, originally in the bricks & mortar shop on the Promenade, then on the beaches at Whiterocks and at Portstewart Strand. We’ve employed some legends over the years who have become close personal friends and we will miss the vibe and banter working at the beach and having a laugh with our customers, and the team from the National Trust. We would like to thank all our customers, staff, and friends for the support, fun and the great memories!

We will be selling off a lot of our equipment, both new and used and will post details on this page as we sort through everything. This Saturday we’ll be at the Vineyard Market in Coleraine and will be selling off our hire wetsuits (Adults £15, Children £10) and some surfboards and bodyboards.

We’ll still be at the Strand, but relaxing now, with everyone else in what is a fantastic community of amazing people with the common love of beach life. Thank you, it’s been epic!

Portstewart Strand has loved its first summer as an Inclusive Beach. Through an invaluable partnership with the Mae Murray Foundation, people with mobility and sensory needs have enjoyed the type of beach days which can easily be taken for granted. The ongoing free equipment loan scheme alongside the Changing Places toilet facilities have broken down beach barriers providing access, often for the first time.

Sound advice folks!
Please use a beach that has RNLI Lifeguards Northern Ireland on it and swim between the Red & Yellow flags. If you're not sure where to swim or bodyboard, ask the lifeguards or experienced surf shops or surfers, who will be only to happy to show you.

Perfect day for paddleboarding, kayaking and there's a small wave for surfing and bodyboarding too. We're at National Trust - Portstewart Strand every day over summer for surf hires and all your beach essentials - are you coming out to play?

Summer has arrived and we'll be on the beach daily from today for all your surf rental and beach gear!

Did you know Portstewart Strand is covered by Lifeguards Northern Ireland. Be sure to keep between the flags if swimming in the sea.

Ocean Warriors are also with us all summer for all your wetsuits, bodyboards, windbreakers and everything you need for a day at the beach!

You can also hire accessible beach equipment from us for free by contacting the foundation Mae Murray Foundation and making a booking in advance.
