Sadly Steve Bailey passed away recently and thank you to Steve's family they have set up a Justgiving page as they wanted to give back something to the sport that Steve loved.
I met Steve and his wife Sandra back in 2009 at the 'Amputee Games' (now called LimbPower Games) where we took part in various sports as being amputees I suppose we did not know what we could do! This is where Steve and I found a sport we both loved, Sitting Volleyball. After this Steve was one of the founders of SHSVC.
Steve was a lovely, genuine guy and people spoke highly of him. He would train regularly but mostly he loved taking part in competitions where he would always give 101% and had a passion to 'win'!
Steve will be sadly missed by all his family and friends and will always be remembered at SHSVC.
If you would like to donate to his Justgiving page his family have set up, here is the link. All monies will be gratefully received by the club and it will help towards equipment, running of the club and competitions in the future - thank you!

We are so sad to report the passing of one of our founding members, Steve Bailey. Steve was part of the DNA of Portsmouth Sitting Volleyball Club, now South Hants, and was passionate about sitting volleyball. He was the club Chair for many years and after he stood down he was made an honorary member of the club. Although he retired from playing he was always keen to hear how the club was performing at the Grand Prix and wanted to be kept up to date on all the news.
Steve, we love you and will miss you. RIP our friend.
