“HMICFRS has identified poor and inconsistent decision-making as a risk to public safety. That is an administrative and leadership failure, not a failure of fi****ms law. The legislation is already robust – it is ineffective licensing practice that creates risk."
“Calls to tighten fi****ms law or to reclassify sh****ns ignore the real issue. Public safety is best served by well-trained licensing teams, clear national guidance and timely, evidence-based decision-making, not by adding further complexity to a system that is already struggling to cope."
Damning report exposes fi****ms licensing failures in Beds, Cambs and Herts
BASC has renewed calls for proper resourcing and accountability following a damning police fi****ms licensing unit inspection.

Smith & Wesson 629 Competitor Classic 6inch CO2
The legendary. 44 Magnum revolvers of the 629 series are known for their impressive design and first-rate quality. With its barrel jacket and attachable barrel weights the massive Smith & Wesson 629 Competitor breaks new ground in terms of appearance.
The weights, which are used in the original to shift the center of gravity, give the Competitor its striking character. This CO2-operated ai**un has a similar look. It also features an authentic mounting rail for red dot sights and a fully adjustable rear sight. The Non-slip rubber grip make this 1,550 g full-metal version easy to handle.
The cylinder accepts metal loading shells, as in the original, and the manual safety is integrated unobtrusively in the cylinder release. The piercing tool for the 12-g CO? capsule is integrated in the grip scale.

https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/fi****ms-licensing-sound-moderators
The Government are seeking to use a Legislative Reform Order made under the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006, that will effectively remove the need for moderators to be placed on a Fi****ms Certificate.
They propose to amend the definition of fi***rm in section 57(1)(d) of the Fi****ms Act 1968 to remove the reference to sound moderators.
This is a sensible move and clearly, good news for shooters who use them for target shooting and other shooting activities.
