The first team are at home to Portstewart Olympic on Saturday morning and the reserves face Glebe Rangers Reserves tomorrow evening 🔵⚪️

FT - A frustrating evening sees Garvagh take all 3 points.
Ross Irwin levelled after a good work from Luke Loughrey, but Portrush Reserves were reduced to 9 men in the second half and Garvagh took full advantage.

Heights Reserves 1-4 Portrush Reserves (Match Report)

The Port rushed into an early 2-0 lead with Darrell Coyles flicking in a corner from Danny Bradley, and Bradley finishing a Darren Neill pass within the first 4 minutes.

Ten minutes before half time, Portrush increased their lead when James Taylor played in Bradley for his second. HT 3-0.

Portrush made it 4-0 when Ross Irwin found Taylor who slotted home, but Heights Reserves replied instantly.

A string of spectacular saves from Portrush’s keeper, Terry Daly, and a missed penalty from the Heights kept the scoreline at 4-1 FT.

The games are coming thick and fast for the Reserves with two more league fixtures against Heights Reserves, at the Crescent on Saturday and Garvagh on Tuesday.

The first team have a break in their league schedule until next weekend. 🔵⚪️

Ballybrakes United 3-7 Portrush Reserves (Match Report)

First Half
Portrush went 2–0 up early; Luke Loughrey scored on 13 minutes with a deflected 20-yard shot, and James Taylor added a second on 16 minutes after a through ball from Pierce McDonald.

Ballybrakes had a chance on 18 minutes but Tiago McKendry cleared off the line. They pulled one back on 29 minutes from a header, then equalised on 32 minutes.

Ross Irwin restored Portrush’s lead on 37 minutes after a defensive error.

Half Time: Ballybrakes 2–3 Portrush Reserves

Second Half
Harry McCormick made it 4–2 on 52 minutes from Darren Neill’s cross. Taylor scored again on 61 minutes after a team move involving McCormick, who then scored a superb strike on 62 minutes for 6–2.

Ballybrakes scored on 82 minutes to make it 6–3, but Danny Bradley finished a quick free-kick move from Josh Greene on 87 minutes to seal it 7–3.

A strong attacking display secured a convincing win for Portrush Reserves.

Portrush 4 - 4 Coleraine Crusaders (Match Report)

First Half
A scrappy opening 20 minutes saw both sides settle in with few clear chances. Portrush were growing into the game and communicating well until a Coleraine Crusaders free-kick was finished to the keeper’s left open the scoring.

The goal gave Portrush the spark they needed, chances fell to Danny Bradley, Jack Magee and Christy Kerr in quick succession, while John Mitchell made a key clearance to keep it 1-0.

In the 35th minute, Danny Bradley squeezed in at the left post to level.
Shortly after Tom Hasson finished left-footed into the bottom corner after a pass from Luke Kennedy and great feet from Tom.
This was quickly followed by Christy calmly slotting home to make it 3-1 at HT.

Second Half
Portrush started well and controlled the first 10 minutes. A couple of forced changes disrupted the flow for Portrush and gave Coleraine Crusaders more space in midfield. From there Portrush were chasing the ball and chances were few.

A penalty for a shirt pull made it 3-2. Coleraine Crusaders then missed a second penalty from a mistimed tackle.

With 10 minutes left, Coleraine Crusaders equalised after Portrush were caught at the back. The hosts took the lead in the dying minutes, as tired legs and lost shape cost Portrush.

In the 4th minute of stoppage time, a long throw from John was flicked in at the far post by Andy Todd for 4-4.

FT 4-4 - Frustrating to drop 2 points after leading, but Portrush showed character. Coleraine Crusaders battled back well and took their chances to share the spoils.
