This post is longer overdue. We want to thank everyone that helped us along the way. What a season it was. We had loads and loads of fun and ended it with a really nice result in Kiel! Thank you everyone!

Sadly we will not be sailing together. Ewan will continue to sail 29ers and participate in the 29er Europeans this year. Wish him luck! Märten will transistion into 49ers as he feels he needs to move on to further improve his sailing skills.

A big thank you to our families, friends and supporters! We could not have done it without you.

We have arrived in Valencia. It has been amazing! We have had sun, wind and smiles every single day! King of Shades SHUGS sunglasses have come in handy😎

We started off by participating in a 4-day clinic. We learned a lot from the clinic and feel prepared for the event! Thank you to Blue Wind Sailing Base for the splendid coaching and tasteful BBQ's!

We also want to thank Veloforte for sponsoring us. The bars they have provided us with are out of this world! They are a perfect small meal to have on the water. Plus, the idea of eating the same kind of food that the Roman Legions used to have, must fill one with endless determination and endurance😀

It's nice to be here with all the other nations. There are a lot of good and fast sailors. We are looking forward to going head to head with them.

Märten finally got to see his dad after 6 months! The rest of his family is arriving tomorrow. This has most definitely filled him with motivation!

We finished some boat work today and are nearly done with the measurment process. Tomorrow we will do some final training and work on making the boat go even faster!

After a very productive 4-day training and boat work period we are on our way to Valencia for the 2021 29er World Championships!

We will take part in a 4-day clinic to familiarise ourselves with the conditions and prepare ourselves. Let's show them what we are made of!

Our first long event together is finished. We are not going to lie. We are not happy with the result. Nevertheless, we still talk to each other and are looking forward to more sailing and more events. At the end of the day that is the most important bit. We sail because we love it.

There are still things to be proud of – we placed second in the qualifying races, won our first race and even though things weren’t going our way in the final series, we never gave up.

We had some excellent races when we had at least an okay start but in the final series we often had a bad start and found ourselves with almost no options to climb back to the top. This was the main reason we dropped from 2nd to 12th.

A big thanks to everyone who has supported us get this far. We are grateful to our parents who have enabled us to do this amazing sport and for all the background work. We couldn’t do it without you!

Thanks Bodyhero for the protein bars - they helped us stay focused and recover from the long days on the water. Thanks King of Shades SHUGS for the sunglasses (even though it wasn’t particularly sunny in Scotland 😊) and the supportive comments throughout the event! Thanks to Digital Sailing for the photos.

Hopefully this defeat will prepare us better than nothing else for the worlds. Let’s get to work!

Ready at UK Nationals in Largs! Super excited to get some racing in. Looking forward to five days of excellent sailing.

After some complications at measurement we got our boat up and running. It turns out that our boat was too light :) we had some practice races today. Our speed was looking good.

Huge thanks to Shugs sunglasses and Bodyhero for helping us. It looks to be five days of sunny and fast sailing - those sunglasses will come in handy and Bodyhero protein bars will have us fresh and energetic for every race!

Intense 5 days of training behind us! We sailed for 22 hours and covered 101 miles over the 5 days.

First of all we were very lucky do to even take part in this training as we found out that we have a place the day before at 11pm. We quickly organised logistics and were in Weymouth at 9 am the next day!

We started off the week with polishing our starts and decision making. Later on in the camp we focused on tuning and mark roundings. On day 3 we had a practice race day with the youth squad. We did 2 races in the harbor, 2 out in the bay and 1 medal race on the Olympic race course. It felt empowering to race in the same place where the winners of 2012 Olympics were decided.

We managed to make it into the medal race by just 1 point even though we were over in one of the races with no discards. It was a place well deserved since we won the medal race!

We liked the professional sailing life so much that we stayed for one more day. Luckily there were some other 29er sailors there and we could join with them for some short course racing. A killer to finish off the week :)

The biggest take away for us was that we can manage perfectly well without our shore team aka parents. We made some incredible dinners :).

On a more serious note - our weak spot is our start. We need to get a good start. We have the decision making and the speed to finish races in the top 3. Just have to be able to get off the line well and clear.

Next up - UK Nationals in Largs! Let's make it count!
