Finally we are able to share our big news 🥳

After 21 years of wear, tear and flooding on our old astro pitch, Afan Fitness are delighted to announce that we have successfully secured funding for a brand‑new 3G pitch.

This significant investment marks our ongoing commitment to improving sporting facilities, expanding community opportunities, and ensuring that all ages have access to high‑quality, modern outdoor sporting provision.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our funders Cymru Football Foundation, Sport Wales and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, whose belief in Afan Fitness, and shared vision for a valley where everyone can thrive through sport, has been instrumental in bringing this project to life.

We also wish to formally acknowledge the invaluable support of Neath Port Talbot Council representatives - Firstly Councillor Jeff Jones for championing our vision, investing in the future of Afan Fitness with his allocated members funding (PIPIF) and (NIP) plus his consistent support and advocacy. Also our sincere thanks go to Councillor Scott Jones, whose commitment from the start in 2015, for his ongoing expertise, knowledge and guidance we will be forever grateful.

Lastly, NPTCBC Paul Hinder and his team for their professional expertise, technical insight, and practical assistance for the project.

Afan Fitness would further like to thank our trustees and recognise the exceptional efforts of our internal team, firstly JC - Jayne Coleman whose extensive funding knowledge, writing impeccable funding applications, strategic planning, and relentless determination and motivation drove this project from concept to completion, and to Yvonne Casey, who worked tirelessly to deliver documentation, applications, compliance requirements, and deadlines with precision and dedication. Their passion and combined efforts ensured the successful approval of every funding element and compliance required to make it happen 🥰

Unsupervised Open Sessions:

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
• 11am – 1pm
• 4pm – 6pm

To help us manage numbers, please pop inside the Afan Fitness Centre before using the pitch✅
