🌒☀️ IT’S ECLIPSE DAY! ☀️🌒

So, of course, today’s Holiday Club had to have a SUN & PROJECTILE theme! 🎯🔥🏹

We started the day learning how to find our way using nothing but the sun. The children used shadow sticks to work out the cardinal points of our site 🧭 before putting their new skills to the test on a woodland treasure hunt, using their directions to solve the clues and find their way around Wildforge.

Then it was time for the projectiles! 🎯

With everything being so incredibly dry at the moment, James also demonstrated just how easily a fire can start using nothing more than a piece of glass and the sun. 🔥☀️ A really powerful way of showing the children why we have to be so careful with fire, litter and glass in the countryside during dry weather.

And there was only one way we could finish Eclipse Day…

We headed down to Hamworthy Park, had a dip in the sea 🌊 and watched the eclipse together! 🌒☀️

Adventure, science, navigation, fire safety, target sports and an eclipse at the beach… not a bad Wednesday at Holiday Club! 🏹🌲🔥🌊

Huge congratulations to some of our team who have successfully completed their Level 3 Outdoor First Aid qualification! 🔥 ⚒️

One of the best parts? Our shooting range was transformed into a fantastic outdoor classroom for the day. It was the perfect environment to learn the skills needed to deal with real-life emergencies in the outdoors.
