Sometimes the students are every bit as fashionable as the instructors! π
Jonah clearly got the memo this week, turning up in his matching tiger boardies π
π₯ β because apparently coordinating your kit is now part of the PADI syllabus!
And it wasnβt just the fashion game that was strongβ¦ πͺπ Jonah absolutely smashed Confined Water 3 of his PADI Open Water Diver Course! ππ€Ώ
Looking good β
Diving well β
Tiger mode activated β

Great work, Jonah β another big step closer to becoming a qualified Open Water Diver! ππ

βοΈπ€Ώ Tec Diving on a piece of WWI history! π€ΏβοΈ
This Sunday, the Poole Divers Tec Division headed out to dive the wreck of HMT Arfon, lying in around 35-43 metres of water south of St Albanβs Head, Dorset. π
Built in 1908, the Arfon began life as a steam fishing trawler before being requisitioned by the Royal Navy during the First World War and converted for minesweeping duties. On 30 April 1917, she struck a mine and sank rapidly, tragically taking 10 of her 13 crew with her. βοΈ
Remarkably well preserved, the wreck still retains many fascinating features from her working life and wartime service, including minesweeping equipment, machinery and other fittings. The wreck was only correctly identified in 2014 and is now a Protected Wreck Site, as well as the final resting place of the men who lost their lives aboard her.
A fantastic dive into a fascinating piece of Dorset's maritime history β and one to be treated with the respect it deserves. ππ€ΏβοΈ

Hereβs a look at our latest BAD Diver (Basic Archaeological Diver) course, run in conjunction with (Marine Archaeology Sea Trust)! π€ΏβοΈπΊ
Lucy and Ryan had a busy couple of days, starting with a classroom session with PADI Instructor and Professional Marine Archaeologist Giles, before getting hands-on with their surveying skills β first in the car park, then in the swimming pool!
The following day it was off to Vobster to put all that theory and practice to the test at the Archaeology Training Site. Two full-on days of underwater archaeology, surveying and plenty of new skills later, there was only one thing left to doβ¦
π» The traditional pub stop!
Out came the graph paper, pencils and archaeological brains to draw up and interpret the results of their surveys β because apparently archaeology doesnβt stop when you leave the water! πβοΈ
A brilliant weekend of diving, archaeology and learning. Well done Lucy and Ryan! ππ€Ώ

Many years ago, Chris & Oli completed their PADI Seal Team & Master Seal Team right here at Poole Diving, learning the ropes with instructors Kev & Ginge. π¦π€Ώ
Fast forward a few years (okay, quite a few! π) and theyβre back where it all started β this time beginning their PADI Open Water Referral!
Thereβs just one small differenceβ¦ the old boys, Kev & Ginge, are now officially retired from teaching! π΄π So itβs over to the new generation of Poole Diving instructors to take them through the next chapter of their diving journey.
Welcome back, Chris & Oli β letβs get you Open Water qualified! π€Ώπ₯
