Our thoughts are with Margaret’s family and friends. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to share this fantastic story about one of our members, Jack Coombes, better known as “The Pie Man” or to those around the club, Jackdaw! 👏

Jack has raised an incredible £20,000 for Velindre Cancer Centre, spending his weekends baking and selling homemade pies, pasties and cakes at Riverside Holiday Park in Swansea. 🥧🍰

A huge congratulations from everyone at Rhydyfelin Non Pol, Jack. £20,000 is an unbelievable achievement and something you should be immensely proud of. 👏💙

It’s brilliant to see one of our own receiving some well-deserved recognition!

An 83-year-old veteran known as "The Pie Man" has raised around £20,000 for Velindre Cancer Centre, selling pies and pasties every weekend at a Swansea holiday park 🥧

👨‍🍳 Jack Coombes, from Rhydyfelin near Pontypridd, spends his weekends at his holiday home at Riverside Holiday Park in Swansea, where for around eight years he's been baking pies, pasties and cakes to sell in the clubhouse every Friday and Saturday - making everything himself the day before, and even covering the cost of ingredients out of his own pocket.

💙 Jack's fundraising is personal - he's battled cancer himself several times over the years, and channels his time into supporting others going through the same fight. He said he's "over the moon" with how much he's been able to help people in similar situations, and has no plans to stop making pies anytime soon.

🙌 He's had support along the way from Pam Connelly, and Velindre itself recently visited the park to thank him in person for his years of fundraising.

❤️ Every penny raised goes directly to Velindre, helping fund its work supporting cancer patients and their families.
