💙🩵 Match Report – Llan Valleys vs Cardiff Met 🩵💙

Pure passion from start to finish 🔥 what a game and what a performance from the squad 💪

After a tough first game of the weekend, we came into this one determined to reset, re-focus and come away with a win 💥 This was our second game of the weekend and the legs were definitely feeling weak and tired 🥵 but the fight and determination never dropped for a second.

We came out flying and opened the scoring with a beautifully worked team run — slick passing, triangles and diamonds everywhere 🔺 before bagging another shortly after from a short corner ⚡️ Cardiff Met hit back with a counter from their short and then levelled things up, but our defence dug in and kept them at bay 🧱

There was a slightly chaotic moment when Shannon’s hit out went straight through the middle 😅 definitely not the plan and gave us all a bit of a scare (especially Carleigh 😂) but we regrouped quickly and settled back into our game.

Half time was full of smiles and positivity 😄 and we carried that energy straight into the second half. Carleigh put us back in front with a gorgeous reverse stick flick 🤌 before Nikki sealed the win from a short corner 💥

There were bumps and bruises everywhere — Carleigh battling through with her broken toe ❤️‍🔥 Gaynor picking up a lump on her arm, Beth, Donna and Shannon all breaking fingers, and Ellie knocking her foot — absolute warriors all round 🩹

So much heart, so much fight, and some unreal 1–2s all over the pitch 💙

Final score: 4–2

Exactly the response we wanted 👏 What a team

💘 Match Report – Llan Valleys 🩵💙 vs Gwernyfed 💙🩵
Saturday 14th February

Love was definitely in the air on Saturday 💕 — nothing says Valentine’s weekend quite like spending the afternoon running around with the gals and a hockey stick 🏑💙

We welcomed Gwernyfed for what turned out to be a tough but spirited game. With a new formation to try out and a few changes across the pitch, we knew it might take some adjusting — but the team spirit was there from the first whistle 🙌

Gwernyfed started strongly and found the net early, putting us on the back foot, but Llan Valleys kept battling and working hard to settle into the game 💪 Despite the formation not quite clicking as we’d hoped, everyone dug in and supported each other, showing great resilience throughout 👏

A huge shoutout to our top striker who led the line brilliantly despite playing through a broken toe — absolute warrior behaviour ❤️‍🔥 And thank you to everyone who stepped up into different roles and gave it their all for the team ⭐️

We created some great passages of play and kept pushing forward, earning ourselves two well-worked goals ⚡️ and continuing to fight right until the final whistle ⏱️ Gwernyfed were clinical in front of goal and took their chances well, but the scoreline doesn’t reflect the effort and determination shown across the pitch 💙

Although it wasn’t the result we wanted, there were plenty of positives to take — commitment, teamwork, and the willingness to adapt when things weren’t quite going our way 🩵 Most importantly, it was another great day spent playing the sport we love together 🏑💙

Final score: Llan Valleys 2 – Gwernyfed 6

January Recap 💙🩵🏑

We had two tough fixtures to kick off the year, facing Cardiff Met and Cardiff Medics, with both games finishing 1–5. The scorelines didn’t go our way, but there were still plenty of positives to take from two very cold matchdays ❄️🥶

As a team, we showed great spirit and stuck together throughout both games, continuing to work hard right until the final whistle 💙 There were some really good passages of play, with moments where we moved the ball well and created chances 🩵 and it was great to see the effort and commitment across the pitch despite the conditions 💪

Of course, there are things for us to work on. We know we can be more clinical in front of goal 🎯 and tighter defensively, and we’ll be focusing on improving those areas as we head into the next block of fixtures 📈

We’ll take the lessons learned, keep building, and keep pushing forward together 🤝

Roll on February — we’re ready for what’s next 💙🩵🔥

🏑 Match Report: Llan Valleys vs Gwent 💙💙
An extremely early start for the Llan Valleys squad — 9am meet, 40-minute drive, 10am pushback… uchhh 😩. The forecast? Heavy rain 🌧️. The vibes? Sleepy but determined.
Beth turned up with a dislocated thumb AND a broken toe 😳 but insisted on playing our last match before Christmas! 🎄💙
The whistle blew and Carleigh took pushback 🔔. Straight through… a clean run… and within 120 seconds she slotted it home! ⚡️ 1–0 Valleys 💙
Reset. Whistle again. Gwent pushed back but our defence was on fire 🔥 with Rosey and Donna putting in some brilliant tackles in the midfield, Ellie and Lara holding the forwards and Shan, Beth, Nikki, Lisa and Rhi holding defence. Donna somehow assisted while lying on the floor like she owned the place 🤣 and Rosey buried it.
2–0 Llan Valleys 💙🩵 We kept the pressure on with fantastic runs and shots from Nikki, Donna and Lara, but their keeper was having the game of their life 🧱. Half time rolled in… and disaster struck. We forgot the Haribos. 😭🍬 Despite the sugar crisis, the team talk was solid — communication, passing, finding our spaces — and everything was clicking today. 💙🩵 We came out strong, but so did Gwent — they attacked hard, ran the lines, and really pushed us. They weren’t making anything easy 🏃‍♀️💨. Donna absolutely bossed the midfield — three more assists in the second half, taking her total to FOUR 🙌. And Carleigh? On another level. She put three more away: a beautiful reverse flick into the right-hand corner 🤯 another reverse-stick flick, this time top left 💥 and the final one — chaos on a short corner: Beth took a stroke, it rebounded, Nikki shot, it rebounded again, and Carleigh somehow flicked it in from the most awkward angle imaginable. Unreal. 🤩
Full Time: Llan Valleys 5 – 0 Gwent 💙💙
A fantastic win, stunning teamwork, unreal goals, and phenomenal spirit from everyone on the pitch. The weather at the end? Sun was shining ☀️
UP THE VALLEYS 🏑💙🩵

💙🩵MATCH REPORT 🩵💙
Llan Valleys vs Pembrokeshire
The Valley Army arrived ready for a 12pm pushback — not early, just very, VERY wet 🌧️💦. The pitch was already a puddle and our grips were hanging on for dear life. With only 10 players warming up and the drizzle getting worse, panic was rising… until JACKIE made a dramatic entrance with 120 seconds to spare ⏱️😇. Full squad secured. Hero status confirmed.
Pembroke came out fast — young legs flying everywhere 🏃‍♀️💨 but Llan held strong.A break, some neat 1–2s, and we earned ourselves a short corner.Bethan stepped up, Nikki to Beth… BANG! 1–0 💥🏑💙🩵
Pembroke pushed straight back. One short corner… then another… then another 😩
One hit Nikki’s foot, One hit Beth’s, One pinged off Shan’s stick. Clearly Valleys LOVE gifting short corners 🤦‍♀️🤣 Eventually Pembroke made it 1–1. The stick situation? Soaked. Slippery. Chaos. But then — MAGIC from The Valleys 💙 Llan worked the ball up the pitch, Carleigh picked it up and basically walked it into goal like it was her living room. 2–1🔥 Reset. More triangles, crisp 1–2s, and pressure in the D from Nikki, Carleigh, Jackie, Ellie & Lara. Then Jackie launched herself in a glorious dive and scored 😍🙌 3–1. Five minutes before the half, Shan decided she was going on a solo adventure, from our 16… all the way to Pembroke’s D…The shot? Absolutely no chance — but the entertainment value? 10/10 😂🔥Georgia shared her HARIBOS 🍬💙 Elite athlete fuel. 2nd Half 💪💙
Pembroke came out determined and earned a few more short corners — we stopped counting after three 🙃 But Llan’s defence stood like a wet but unbreakable wall 🧱💙
Then suddenly — Gaynor appeared mid-match! Lisa’s face: pure joy 🌟Fresh legs = fresh energy = beautiful link-up play. Llan were buzzing 🐝 With 15 minutes left, Beth sent a perfect ball through to Nikki, who drove from the halfway line into the D and smashed it home 💥 4–1!
Final Whistle: 4–1 WIN for Llan💙🩵💙
Soaked to the skin, smiling like champions — a performance to be proud of 🥰🙌🏑

🏑 MATCH REPORT: Llan Valleys 4–1 Milford Haven 🏑💙🩵 What. A. Game. 🩵💙
A later push back this week meant we could all have a lie-in… except poor Donna, who finished a night shift, realised she’d left her house keys in the car, and had to climb through a window to get ready 🤣👏 True commitment!
Milford came out FAST. Their warm-up was intense and professional, and they proved it from the first whistle. Straight through the middle and a beautiful strike put them 1–0 up.
But Llan don’t fold.Carleigh pushed back to Donna, some lovely link-up play, ball into the D, slipped back to Nikki… GOAL! 1–1! COME ON LLAN! 💙
Milford hit back with strong play through the middle, and Shannon launched an absolute rocket from our 23 that just didn’t connect. We blocked it out and earned a short. Nikki to Beth, great strike, saved. Press again, another short, Nikki to Carleigh, saved again!
But Llan kept pushing and took the lead before half time: 2–1 to us.And yes… we stole Kath’s Haribos. It wouldn’t be a game without them 🍬😆
Second half was full of graft from both teams. Lisa connected with everything and ran her socks off. A penalty flick was awarded and up stepped our hat-trick hero, Nikki “The Valley Viper” 🐍🧢Whistle… BANG. 3–1!
Then came a mad minute where basically the entire Llan squad camped in Milford’s D, rebound after rebound and their keeper turned into a brick wall. Carleigh scored a beauty but it was disallowed.
Milford shocked us with a break from their 23—one player off like a whippet—but our keeper kept her out! Ball went straight back up into Milford’s D and after 4–5 short corners, we finally capitalised.
🔵⚪ FULL TIME: Llan Valleys 4–1 Milford Haven! ⚪🔵A game full of heart, hustle, laughs and pure team spirit. What a performance from every single player.
UP THE VALLEYS! 💙🩵🔥
