A huge congratulations to two of our Masters swimmers, Keith and Chris who took part in the Long Course Weekend swim last night.

Keith swam his first ever 1.2 mile open water event, achieving 2nd place in his age category.

Chris a returning swimmer, coming 8th in his age category.

Both managed to avoid jellyfish 🪼 which is always a bonus!

Both are an inspiration to our Masters and younger squad swimmers. Well done both! 👏 🏊‍♂️

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, grandads and father figures in our Pontypridd Swimming Club family. 💙

This morning’s father-and-daughter coaching session couldn’t have been more fitting.

Today is a chance to celebrate and thank the dads who encourage training, cheer from the sidelines, drive countless miles, and support our swimmers every step of the way.

We also know that Father’s Day can be a difficult time for many. Our thoughts are with everyone remembering a dad or grandad who is no longer with us, or for whom today brings mixed emotions.

Amazingly proud of our Masters swimmers and 1 squad member, who took part in Dawn til Dusk last weekend. Swimming in 16 degree water for 12 hours (relay) is some achievement.

Here they are with the rest of their team mates giving them a big cheer.

Just over a week to go to get your entries in for the Swim Wales Development Meet on Sunday 19th July! Entries close 5pm Friday 26th June. 📅

For this meet we are accepting ‘no time entries’ so swimmers to gain times ready for next season as well as providing development swimmers with a long course opportunity 🏊‍♂️

What a day. What a team. What a club.

Yesterday’s Dawn to Dusk Challenge was about far more than metres swum – it was about teamwork, resilience, and everyone stepping up for each other from start to finish.

Huge credit to our swimmers:
🏊‍♀️ 39,700m – Team LeachCY (Endurance Relay Award winners)
🏊‍♂️ 21,650m – Team Robinson

Standout moments from the day:
• Kristina showing real determination to bounce back after a tough start
• Liz showing outstanding grit (and keeping everyone fuelled along the way!)
• Owen quietly clocking up the miles with real mental strength and constant support for others
• Lucas swimming with maturity and heart beyond his years as our youngest swimmer
• Keith bringing positivity all day while smashing his 2000m per leg goal
• Angela helping hold the team together in and out of the water.

Massive behind-the-scenes support:
• Chris cycling in with perfect timing, homemade cake and spare goggles
• Kam stepping in wherever needed to keep everything running smoothly.

Every swimmer dug deep, lifted each other, and kept going when it mattered most – that’s what makes this group so special.

As we build towards 100 years of Pontypridd Swimming Club in 2028, days like this show what has carried us through a century – community, resilience, and a shared love of swimming.
