A small, local club that caters for anyone who is enthusiastic about running. We welcome all ages, all abilities and we'd love to meet you.
Our club nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm
Our beginners First Steps group meets at 6.30pm on Monday and Wednesday. Our junior section meets at 6.00pm on Mondays. All sessions are from Pontypool Active Living Centre unless otherwise advised. We train over various distances and terrains and encourage everyone to join in team events. The club participates in the Gwent Leisure Centre Leagues and the Gwent Cross Country League.

Fantastic turnout of Poolers for the final GLCL at Parc Bryn Bach! 🏃♂️🏃♀️
What a brilliant way to wrap up the league series. Seeing so many familiar faces toeing the start line, pushing through the course, and cheering each other on right to the finish line is what this club is all about.
Massive congratulations to every single Pooler who ran today—whether you smashed a personal best, tackled the distance for the first time, or just dug deep to get through it.

A massive congratulations to Toby Wales! Taking on and conquering the grueling EDDUM 50 ("Into the Wilds" from Strata Florida to Builth Wells) is an incredible achievement. Crossing that finish line after tackling the relentless Welsh trails, elevation, and sheer distance takes an immense amount of grit, resilience, and hard training.
An extraordinary effort—time to put those feet up and celebrate!

It was such a fantastic sight to see a sea of red as Poolers and First Steppers absolutely took over the course. You all showed such grit and determination tackling those miles in the heat today! ☀️🔥

On Sunday 12th July, we are hosting a Charity Bake Sale at Pontypool Park immediately after the Mic Morris 10k race.
Every single penny raised will go towards supporting Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity), an incredible cause that William and Caira Harnett are championing as they kickstart their fundraising journey for the 2027 London Marathon! 🏃♂️🏃♀️
🤝 How You Can Help:
Bake for us: We are looking for donations of cupcakes, brownies, traybakes, cookies, or whole cakes
Help on the stall: 📢 Not running the Mic Morris this year? We are looking for a few extra pairs of hands to help serve cakes, chat with people, and manage the stall while the runners are out on the course.

🏃♂️✨ Join us this Saturday for Pontypool 5K Your Way! ✨🏃♀️
Looking for a supportive community to get moving? A chance for cancer patients, survivors, their carers, supporters and anyone involved with cancer services to come together to enjoy the supportive atmosphere and the benefits of exercise in nature. Parkrun is not a race - you can run, walk or do a bit of both, and 5K Your Way does not expect everyone to complete the 5k each and every time. It's 5k Your Way, even if it takes more than one attempt to complete. As with parkrun, all abilities are welcome, and it's free

What is 5K Your Way?
