Sound Fitness bike ride 🚲

Great to get some miles in the legs last night with some of the fellas from Plymouth round table 🎯

As I keep saying, your fitness journey should go further than just inside the four walls of a gym 💪🏽

Keep your eyes peeled for the next one and feel free to recommend a fitness related activity you’d be keen to be a part of 👀

Another example of why I think results should go further than just what we can achieve in the gym 👀

In just one month Joy:
Lost 1.3kg.
Dropped 3% body fat.
Increased muscle mass.
Improved hydration.
Improved her fitness.

All great results and exactly the sort of progress you wanna see 👏🏻

My favourite part of Joy’s feedback was this:
“I can start working on my own as I will be more confident.”

Because that’s an example of what I want my coaching to achieve.

Great physical results in 4 weeks.
But also something much more valuable built for the long term.

Sound 🤛🏼

So… Sound Fitness has been nominated for Best Health & Fitness Business by the Devon Retail Business Awards 2026 🥳

Slightly mixed emotions receiving this letter in the post yesterday ngl.

Initial thought — “fu***ng buzzing” 👏🏻

Then the imposter syndrome kicked in…
“It’s probably just a vanity award.”
“It’s a business at the end of the day.”

But there’s probably a lesson in that itself.
Why are we so quick to de-credit ourselves?

I know I find it much harder to say “you know what Skips, you’re doing a great job” than I do to critique all the things I’m not so happy with.

So I’ll take this opportunity to thank anyone who did vote for me 🙏

I still won’t be attending the awards, paying for a certificate or getting too ahead of myself 😂

Mostly because they haven’t actually given me enough time to collect votes, invite anyone or organise a trip to Bristol for it… tomorrow 🙄

But I am going to celebrate the win for what it is 🙌🏼

I fu***ng love coaching.
I love getting my clients great results they can sustain AND results that benefit their lives outside of the gym.

So to have Sound Fitness recognised for what I do genuinely feels good.

And the even more exciting thing is — it’s only getting better.

I’ll keep investing in myself, the business and most importantly YOU, should you want to be part of what we’re building here at Sound Fitness.

That being said… you know what to do 👀

Drop me a DM and we can have a chat about how my coaching could help you 😃

This is the kind of feedback I love to receive 👀

Of course we want to see progress in the gym, and we did 💪🏽
More strength.
Better fitness.
Muscle gained.
Fat lost.
The standard results my coaching gets 👏🏻

But as I’ve been making a point of in recent posts, I feel the real value of training should go further than that.

When your training starts to benefit your life outside of the gym, in other areas that are important to you, that’s when I feel really proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Josh came to me already willing to put the effort in, but just needed a bit more structure, direction and someone in his corner to make sure that effort was building something of value.

I think his feedback says the rest 😃

I posted a poll on my story on the weekend 👀

In which I asked: What areas of your life outside the gym do you feel like your training benefits the most.

It was met with answers like:

- So I can continue to carry my niece up and downstairs.
- For my mental and physical wellbeing.
- Lifting my elderly dog into the car.
- So I can beat you at tennis.
As well as some great other answers.

The most rewarding thing about this type of answer was it fully aligned with not only my values, but why I made the post and what I hoped was important to my follower’s 😃.

For me, it’s all of the above AND:

- So I can take my client/mate out for coffee and not have to sweat the calories in it.
- So I can agree to a random hike with friends and know I won’t die on that hill, literally.
- So I can go for a sea swim and feel good taking my top off.
- Or even stand a good chance of surviving a zombie apocalypse 🤣.

At the end of the day our reasons are often our own.

So if it’s bench press PR’s and lbs of fat loss at the wheel, that’s great too, don’t get me wrong I have goals like that too.

But I want to make the most out of life and feel you should to.

It this is what you want-

DM me “SOUND” and we can talk about what areas of your life my coaching could improve.

Oli’s is a transformation I really like for a slightly different reason 👀

He wasn’t new to the gym, he was already training consistently and he wasn’t expecting some massive transformation overnight.

In fact, one of the first things he said to me was:

“I’m looking at the bigger picture and not necessarily expecting results straight away.”

He just wanted to make sure the work he was already putting in was actually taking him towards his goals.

So we spent just over a month restructuring his training, adjusting his nutrition and improving his technique.

The plan was simple, give Oli the structure and understanding he needed, then let him take it from there on his own.

And he did exactly that.

In that 6 weeks:
✅ 3kg down
✅ Reduced body fat
✅ Increased muscle mass
✅ Increased strength
✅ A pretty noticeable visual change

Not bad for someone who wasn’t expecting results straight away 😂

And Oli has continued progressing since.

Sometimes you don’t need to train more or try harder.

You just need to make sure the effort you’re already putting in is taking you in the right direction.

Massive credit to Oli 👏.

If you could do with a restructure, why not take me up on the FREE training and nutrition audit I’m offering?

It’s already getting people better results than they were before …… and like I said, it’s bloody FREE so why wouldn’t you 😂.

Last night the moon aligned with the sun and some people still took it upon themselves to make a tick tok claiming it was underwhelming. 😂

Which, when you actually think about it, is fu***ng nuts.

But I get it.

Because sometimes when something doesn’t feel as impressive as we expected, we’re quick bin it off.

I see people do the exact same thing with their own progress in the gym.

A few weeks in and you don’t look jacked.

The scales haven’t moved as much as you hoped.

You’re not as strong, fit or confident as you imagined you’d be by now.

And you start to feel underwhelmed.

Even though you’ve trained more consistently than you before.

You’re eating better.

You’re getting stronger.

Your habits and lifestyle are changing.

You’re doing the things that eventually get you the result you’re looking for.

So, it’s not your progress that’s underwhelming.

You just need a better perspective.

I know, I know… linking an eclipse to fitness 🤦🏼‍♂️

But hear me out.

Most people massively overestimate what they need to change today and underestimate what small changes can do over time:
One better choice.
One extra session.
One walk.
One meal that better supports your goal.
One day where you do what you said you would.

None of it feels life-changing on its own.

But keep stacking those 1%s and eventually you look back at a version of yourself you barely recognise.

You don’t need to change everything.

You just need to start somewhere.

Wishing all the best to a real one 😢.

It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Bianca Bryon-Edmond over the last couple of years.

We’ve seen it all in that time together, blood, sweat and tears, quite literally 😂.

We’ve also both grown as individuals, as a team and invested in ourselves for the better.

It’s not often you feel you should thank your clinet back for more than just their commitments to your coaching, but this young lady has also helped me with plenty.

From getting Bianca wedding ready to now seeing her move into a new home, it’s been one helova ride 😊.

It’s a conflict of emotions, proud, sad and everything in between.

All the best in the next stage of your adventure!

I can smell the bbq food already 😆

All this and it’s not even a proper goodbye, see you soon friend, the show must go on 💪🏽

Heather’s results are proof that soo many things are more important than “scale weight”. 😃

When Heather came to me, she had just one month before her holiday after feeling frustrated with the lack of progress from a previous online coaching program.

Instead of chasing quick fixes, we focused on a structured training and nutrition plan that fit her lifestyle and gave her something she could actually stick to.

In just 4 weeks, Heather:
✅ Maintained a healthy body weight
✅ Reduced body fat by 4%
✅ Increased muscle by 4%
✅ Improved hydration by 5%

But the biggest transformation wasn’t just physical...

She headed off on holiday feeling stronger, more confident, and knowing exactly how to keep progressing without restrictive diets or endless cardio.

That’s what coaching should do.

It shouldn’t just help you get results, it should teach you how to maintain them, that’s always been my main Phil-osophy 😉.

If you’re putting in the effort but still not getting the results you deserve, send me a DM with the word “RESULTS” and let’s chat about how I can help.
