Made some quality saves to keep the scoreline down and was quick off his line all game, getting out early to deal with plenty of balls over the top.

Dick of the Day: Mitchell O’Brien -
For attempting a diving header that somehow only managed to skim off his head… maybe just head it normally next time, mate.

💛🖤 The Frikin Scholar FC 2 - 2 Lakeside Athletic 💛🖤

We started slowly and Lakeside took advantage, a ball into the box wasn’t dealt with properly and their player finished well into the far corner to make it 1–0. After that, our back line settled in and were solid, winning headers and dealing with everything coming their way.

Then Cody Lidstone did what he does best — being an absolute nuisance. He got himself in front of the defender and was brought down for a penalty. Luke Ware stepped up and calmly slotted it home.

A little formation change helped get our midfield more involved, while a few strong tackles started flying in from both teams.

We started the second half much better, with some great battles across the pitch as both teams pushed for all three points.

Then some lovely football down the left eventually found Harley Hayes on the edge of the box. Instead of shooting, he made a clever pass to Luke Ware, who fired a low rocket home for his second.

Things started getting a bit more physical after that, including one Lakeside player ending up on the wrong side of Matt Martin, who stood his ground after collecting the ball. 😂

We defended well for most of the half, but one ball caught us sleeping and dropped to a Lakeside player, who finished brilliantly on the half-turn into the side netting.

Late on came a moment nobody wants to see, with Lakeside going down to 10 men after their player threw a punch at Liam Willcocks and caught him in the side of the head luckily he’s the hardest fu**er on the team didn’t bother him at all.

Thanks to Lakeside for the game and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season.

Man of the match: Luke Ware - scoring 2 goals, taking every chance he had.

Dick if the Day: Luke Rowe - cutting the socks of his new kit when we have cut socks on order
