Most people think supplements are about shortcuts.
They are not.
They are there to support the work you are already doing in the gym, with your food, and with your habits.
With my clients I keep supplements simple and intentional.
The basics that support training performance, recovery, health, and long term progress.
Nothing fancy. Nothing extreme.
This carousel breaks down the essential supplements I use with most lifters I coach, especially busy adults who want to lose fat, build muscle, and still feel good doing it.
Supplements never replace consistency.
They just help you get more out of it.
If you want help simplifying what actually makes sense for you, that is something I do inside my coaching.

This is what I put a lot of my effort into these days.
I’ve coached for over 30 years and, for a big part of that, bodybuilding was my world. Contest prep, off-seasons, getting people on stage and everything that went with it.
Over the last 6–7 years though, my coaching has gradually moved away from bodybuilding and much more towards helping everyday people. I think the trendy name for it is “lifestyle coaching” 🤔😂
And I genuinely love it.
Over the last 12 months I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with the Transformation Membership at Zone Fitness Plymouth and Zone Fitness at Morgan’s, not only helping with the nutrition side of things, but also getting to do one of the parts of coaching I enjoy most — teaching and educating people.
Each month we run an education session covering a different subject around nutrition, training, health, habits and mindset.
For me, the important part isn’t just standing there telling people the obvious stuff they could find with a quick Google search.
It’s explaining why things work, cutting through some of the nonsense that surrounds nutrition and training, and then using real-world examples and over 30 years of experience to make it something people can actually understand and use.
We also run a practical training workshop every month, where we get onto the gym floor and look at exercise selection, machine setup, range of motion, technique and how to actually get more from your training.
That combination of coaching, teaching and practical application is probably the part of what I do now that I enjoy the most.
The Transformation Membership isn’t simply about being handed a nutrition plan and a training programme and being told, “off you go.”
I want people to understand what they’re doing and why they’re doing it.
Because ultimately, a good coach shouldn’t just tell you what to do.
They should help you get to the point where you understand enough to make better decisions for yourself.
The slides show what we’ve mapped out for the next 12 months.
Plenty for me to talk about then… 😂

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻?
Think again.
Protein isn’t just for bodybuilders it’s a game-changer if your goal is fat loss, muscle tone, strength or simply feeling fuller and more energised day to day.
Most people (especially women) are unknowingly under-eating it. And that’s holding back your progress more than you think.
It supports fat loss
Helps preserve muscle in a deficit
Keeps you full
Boosts metabolism
Improves body composition
You don’t need to eat 6 meals a day or fear it’ll hurt your kidneys (spoiler: it won’t). You just need to eat enough of it consistently.
And if you're a woman still holding onto old beliefs like “protein is for men” or “it’s unhealthy to eat too much” it’s time to let those go. The truth is protein might be the missing link between your current results and the ones you actually want.
Want to know how much you should be eating and how to hit it without tracking every gram?
That’s where coaching comes in.
📩 Drop me a message and let’s get started on your transformation.

Protein timing is one of those topics that refuses to die.
Drink your shake within 30 minutes.
Miss the window and you miss the gains.
Sounds dramatic. It is.
Muscle is built from consistent training stimulus and enough total nutrition across the day and week. Not from watching the clock.
If your total daily protein is where it needs to be and your calories support your goal, you are covering the fundamentals.
Does timing help?
It can.
Spreading protein across three to five meals gives your body regular opportunities to repair and build.
Having protein after training is practical.
But it is not magic.
Most people struggle with total intake, not timing.
Before worrying about nutrient timing, ask yourself
Are you actually hitting your daily protein target?
Are you progressing your lifts?
Are you consistent week to week?
Get the big rocks in place first.
If you want help setting up your protein targets and a training structure that actually builds muscle, send me a message and let’s talk.

Want to train hard AND stay injury free?
Nothing kills progress faster than an injury. Whether it’s a pulled muscle, joint pain, or burnout, the fastest way to lose results is to push your body past its limits without the right precautions.
Here are 4 key tips to keep you training safely and making progress year-round:
1️⃣ Warm Up Properly
Get your muscles and joints ready for action. A good warm-up boosts blood flow, improves mobility, and reduces your risk of strains or sprains.
2️⃣ Use Correct Form
Technique first, weight second. Poor form not only slows progress, it sets you up for imbalances and injuries.
3️⃣ Increase Intensity Slowly
Don’t try to leap ahead in weight or volume. Progress gradually so your body can adapt and get stronger without breaking down.
4️⃣ Prioritise Recovery
Training hard is only half the equation. Quality rest, proper sleep, and active recovery keep your body performing at its best and injury free.
Inside my coaching, I teach you how to train smart, recover well, and stay consistent so you can build the body you want without the setbacks.
DM me the word SAFE and I’ll help you create a training plan that works with your body, not against it.

You’re training hard but not seeing the muscle growth you want?
It’s frustrating when you’re putting in the hours but not getting the return.
The truth is, it’s rarely down to a lack of effort it’s usually down to missing a few key principles.
Here are some common reasons you might be stuck spinning your wheels:
1️⃣ Junk Volume Overload
More sets aren’t better if they’re not creating quality tension. Train with purpose, not just for time.
2️⃣ Not Training Close Enough to Failure
Leaving 5+ reps in the tank means your muscles aren’t getting the growth signal they need.
3️⃣ Inconsistent Protein Timing
Your body needs consistent protein hits throughout the day (about 25–30g, 3–4 times daily) to maximise recovery and muscle building.
4️⃣ No Progressive Overload
Showing up is great but your muscles adapt. You need to increase weight, reps, or intensity weekly to keep progressing.
If you recognise yourself in any of these, don’t see it as failure. See it as your opportunity to train smarter and unlock the results your effort deserves.
This is exactly what I help my clients with inside my coaching making sure every session, every meal, and every week moves you closer to your goal.
DM me the word MUSCLE and I’ll show you how to break through your plateau and finally see the changes you’ve been working for.
