I know it's already quarter to 12 on Saturday, but here's a post about Paper Shop today anyway. Paper Shop's open until 3 today. The weather's gorgeous, I've opened some of the windows, and I'm stitching trash books. What's a trash book? It's a blank/sketch/whatever book made from all manner of cheap, discarded paper that I've collected and have big piles of - brown paper, tissue paper from shoe boxes, old, wrinkly paper bags, newsprint, etc. Why would you want this stuff to draw on? Because it's exactly the sort of stuff we all normally discard and don't think about. Because it's ephemeral. Because it'll crease & tear and ink'll bleed through it. And because of all that, it'll make you think differently about your approach to materials (at least the material of paper), which is a good thing to do from time to time. So, rush down to RAAY now and get yourself a trash book. And some handmade paper. And some of the antique (from the early 1980s, probably - omg, is that antique now? yikes!) laid stationery I just acquired. Or just to say hey.
