During a recent Wellbeing Gym Session, I noticed one of our members reaching in to grab a clip from the box.
She held on to it all the way as she walked independently around the gym.
As a stroke survivor, she told me that for her carrying the clip helps to distract her from not having her walking stick in her hand.
Weโre so proud of her and how far sheโs come since starting with us โจโจ
Having a stroke can often mean the short term and/or long term loss of movement, coordination, balance, confidence etc.
Tasks that we take for granted in being able to do, can now come with their own challenges or difficulties. For the individual it may mean having to relearn skills or even find completely new ways to do things.
It takes a lot of hard work, commitment and courage to do this. Something our members, especially those attending our Wellbeing Gym Sessions, know all about.
We are a gym for the community, supported by a community and you can help us make a difference ๐
