First Pull-Ups đ¨
The only negative here is the shirt that I have to witness every session of the week.
Regardless of me having to deal with an Arsenal shirt what a fantastic achievement for Nick.
All jokes aside, Nick has made incredible progress and strength improvements.
From not being able to squat due to neck pain to squatting 70kg comfortably.
To two pull-ups in such a short period of time shows that consistency across full body movements carries across the weight room.
Arteta out.

PB Number 2 đ¨
First attempt at 145kg!
Taking a break from deadlifts for a few weeks to prioritise strength to help has really pulled through.
A 1 Rep Max is never going to be perfect technique and now we can iron out the details from the clip and work towards a smoother more efficient rep.
Work on technique and strength is starting to pay off massively.
Whatâs the benefit of the deadlift? Absolutely everything is engaged and working for one purpose.

Two PBs in one session đ¨
This is the first of two that we saw on Monday!
The big barrier we have been trying to overcome is 140kg.
Marc has built a tolerance of consistently hitting 140kg for a single rep the last two-three months now but not quite being able to break the barrier.
Yesterday we saw it break twice. 142.5kg and then 145kg.
Whatâs been the focus?
Deficit deadlifts
Building quad strength
Building upper body and back strength
We have seen increased weights on squats, more reps on pull-ups all helping to build into a stronger overall deadlift.
With persistence and consistency the work has been achieved and sights are now set on the 150kg by the end of the year.

Busy lifestyles, Full-Time Work, Deadlines all impact how your body can react to training.
For a lot of people, finding a balance between the chaos of life is all it takes to be successful and see progress.
1-2 Sessions per week with strong intent and focus is plenty to see progress.
Itâs all about exercise selection and focus on quality movements.
Gone are the days of 5 x sessions per week.
The whole point of training is to allow you to perform away from work and allow your body to withstand what life throws at it.

Training for most isnât about intensity all week
Work and life bring stressors that you canât control and this will heavily impact energy levels, sleep and nutrition throughout the week.
Most people with busy lifestyles only need 1-2 gym sessions per week to cover all of the basics for a strong body.
What you see online doesnât always fit your lifestyle.
When working 1-1, I analyse an individuals work week, stresses and look to understand when to push the intensity and when to hold back.
This helps the body to perform when needed across the whole week, month and year.
1ď¸âŁ Progression isnât a straight curve up. You will have good and bad days. Having someone programme around this and understand your lifestyle is so important.
2ď¸âŁ Movement is king. Increasing range of motion for me beats lifting heavier. If it doesnât translate to your life or sport consider what is the benefit
3ď¸âŁ Patience and empathy. The body handles stress in many ways. Not seeking soreness and pain during a workout. The ability to recover and go again beats training once a week and blowing up.
4ď¸âŁ The best ability is availability. Sports, life and family time. Building a resilient body is a long term commitment and priority. You only get one body so take care of it.
5ď¸âŁ Full Body Splits have become a staple for me. Different angles of movement, two times per week can be more than enough for the majority of the population to succeed. You donât need hours in the gym. Shirt, targeted sessions filled with intent.
