After a difficult start to the season, Pevensey & Westham got back to winning ways with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over a tough Mountfield United side.
The visitors took the lead, but Will Savage kept Pevensey in the game with some fantastic saves when they were needed most. His performance gave the PEV a platform to stay in the contest.
Just before half-time, Devon Mighty found the breakthrough. A well-worked move saw Dev finish calmly from the left-hand side to bring Pevensey level going into the break. ⚽
The second half was a proper battle, with Pevensey constantly knocking on the door and pushing for a winner. And when it looked like the game might end level, Charlie Chambers showed great awareness in the 90th minute, taking a quick corner that was met by a bullet header from Ryan Gilbert to send the home side into the lead! 💥⚽
2–1. Game over. Three points.
A special mention to debutants Joel Shannon and Charlie Chambers, who both put in excellent performances, working relentlessly up and down the pitch throughout the game. 👏

An outstanding performance between the sticks. Will produced some incredible saves throughout the game, keeping Pevensey in it when Mountfield threatened, while also showing excellent distribution from the back.
