Horden had a busy end to their spring cup with the final 4 games all within 12 days!! I’ll keep these short!

First up

Horden vs Foundation of light
Sat 20th June :

Horden were too much for foundation once Caleb got to grips with their cm, everyone of them played out of their skin and Jack fired us out of s**t with some great finishing, the other lads all had chances but couldn’t add to the score!
Jack with all 6 goals.

6-3 FT

Opposition MOTM : only one (Jack) was taking this with the goals he scored including a ridiculous and sharp chipped finish!

Coaches MOTM : Caleb, after coming to grips with the opposition cm, he covered every blade of grass and grabbed himself an assist or two!

Gateshead vs Horden
Tuesday 23rd June :

Always a great battle and some fantastic football on display in this fixture, after blowing a 3-0 lead against them last time the lads were up for the game and to get their revenge!

In absolutely raging heat, Horden battled and cruised to victory!

Jack grabbing another 3, nath with a lovely finish with the move of the game from a great dinked pass from Jack and Nath also trying to claim an own goal after putting in some ridiculous corners, last but not least, probably the finish of the game as Dineen with seconds left bent one from probably 20/25 yards into the top left corner!

6-2 Horden FT

Opposition MOTM : Jack absolutely terrified the opponent and scored and created some nice goals

Coaches MOTM : For the second game running, Caleb ran his absolute socks off to ensure victory, some lovely play and touches allowed him to turn creator once again!

Next up

Sunderland west end vs Horden
Saturday 27th June :

Horden headed into this game knowing victory meant promotion and a step closer to being spring cup champions and they certainly delivered!

This game was a very competitive game to start but Horden soon found their stride and started creating chances at will although west ends keeper produced countless top saves to keep us from running away with it! Jack grabbing all four goals!

4-1 Horden!

Opposition MOTM: Jack delivered yet again with banging goals

Coaches MOTM: Tud was immense at the back and even produced probably the assist of the spring cup for us with a wonderful first time driven pass putting Jack 1 on 1!

Last but not least

Horden vs Washington Athletic
Wednesday 1st July :

Heading into this game, we knew win/draw the lads were champions, the lads delivered the best and most composed display of the spring cup against a physical and decent football team!

The lads were all out attack trying to finish this game quickly as Jack fired in a quick double to put us 2-0 up, the opposition pulled a goal back with an absolute rocket that Brax was unlucky not to save! HT

Straight after the break Jack restored our two goal advantage, the opposition tried to press forward but were met by a resolute Brax who produced 2/3 utterly brilliant saves within a few minutes, Oba then grabbed himself a goal and broke a mini goal drought to finish off the game!

4-1 FT

Opposition MOTM : Brax was outstanding for the full game, loud, commanding his box and pulling off some brilliant saves!

Coaches MOTM : we couldn’t decide as everyone gave it their all to make sure we ended the spring as champions and undefeated, so was given as a TEAM MOTM!

Couldn’t be prouder of the lads, from the mixed bag of the league to spring cup was night and day as we absolutely blew away opponents, the hard work on the training pitch definitely paid off and they fully deserved this success!

HORDEN VS HETTON
Saturday 30th May :

Effort and hard work in training is really starting to show!

The lads came in to today game full of energy and confidence hoping to continue the brilliant spring cup run they are on and boy they didn’t disappoint! Beaten 2-1 last time we played them Horden set out for revenge!

First half Horden flew out of the traps, with Jack and Lew both going close in the first couple of minutes, it was only a matter of time before we opened the scoring, the opposition just couldn’t come to terms with us. Captain Gobs**te Caleb released Jack down the left with the opposition keeper pulling off a decent save but not being able to hold the ball, Oba slammed the rebound home 1-0!

One soon became two as Lew was played in down the right and as he does caused absolute chaos, twisting and turning multiple defending players before brilliantly finishing into the bottom corner 2-0

Again Caleb won back the ball and slipped in Jack again and this time he coolly finished, giving the keeper no chance! 3-0

Caleb turned in another assist as he won the ball back for like the 100th time, beat not 1 but 3 challenging players and played an unbelievable threaded pass for Oba to finish 4-0!

This was total domination and it could of been 6/7 by the time the half came to an end, defensively Jacob, Tud and Carson just wouldn’t allow anything to pass them, Caleb ran his legs off to help defend and put us on the attack, the wingers and Striker Jack, Lew, Oba, Nath, Dineen and Oakley did all the damage!
Brax in goal commanded his box and was first to everything!

HT 4-0

Second half was even more impressive as with the hot temperatures, the lads battled and never gave away anything and were still full of running!

Horden just kept creating chances even with the opposition playing with the extra player, it wasn’t going to stop us today.

Tud was passed the ball and played an unreal pass from his own box pretty much to put Jack 1 on 1, he slipped inside and fired low past the stranded keeper 5-0!

5-0 honestly doesn’t do the game we played justice as it could of been 20!

FT 5-0

Opposition MOTM : Oba, was pretty much unplayable today and scored two very good goals

Coaches MOTM : Jacob, absolutely dominated defensively, never put a foot wrong and even grabbed himself an assist, this passing and long balls caused chaos throughout

Honestly after the mixed league we had, the lads have put the effort and work into training and are getting the rewards they fully deserve, 13 from 15 points and I don’t see them slowing down anytime soon, the MOTM awards could of went to any of them today as they were all brilliant!
