🏒 2025/2026 Season Round-Up 🏒

2025/2026 over and out! Our final Wednesday night training/scrimmage session saw the season come to a close at Phantoms Women HQ (thank you to all those who attended, it made for a great game and awesome fun!)

Congratulations to everyone involved in not only making the season happen, but on the second place finish in our Frank Wright Conference campaign as well as to our End of Season Award winners!

A huge thank you to our players, coaches and management team for your time, dedication and commitment to our club and to the sport itself. Thanks also to our parents and volunteers as without you, games simply wouldn’t happen.

Thank you also to our ‘Player of the Game’ sponsor - Box Seven at Peterborough Phantoms - we are grateful for the support you have given and continue to give as the club moves forward and grows.

Also to our fan base, your support has been amazing throughout the season and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We look forward to welcoming you all back for the 2026/2027 season!

Lastly, a special thank you to WILLIES.co.uk - Ice, Inline & Figure and their ‘Learn to Play’ programme. We are grateful for the support you have provided, along with us, to get women and girls interested in ice hockey, and those sessions have proved successful in helping club numbers grow ahead of the new season (more on this later!)

We, as a club, now have a month off for summer before preparations for the new season begin. We’ll see you on the ice in September! 🏒💙🧡

⭐️ Player of the Game - Medway (A) ⭐️

Brooke was awarded 'Player of the Game' in our final fixture of the 2025/2026 season against the Medway Red Kites, with a strong work ethic and even coming close to scoring on many occasions.

🏒 Result - Medway (A) 🏒

Saturday (June 6) saw Peterborough Phantoms Women make the long trip down to Kent for their final game of the 2025/2026 season against the Medway Red Kites.

In what was an evenly matched game, two early goals from the home side saw them have early momentum in the opening exchanges, with Phantoms running into penalty trouble soon after with captain #97 Kitty Evans sitting two minutes for tripping.

Phantoms settled into their stride soon after the penalty kill, with #13 Stacie Horn pulling a goal back to make the score 2-1, before the Red Kites scored again to regain their two goal lead to end the period.

Period two saw the Phantoms keeping the Red Kites at bay before Evans scored the first of four goals to tie the game at 3-3. She grabbed her second of the game moments later connecting with a pass from goaltender #64 Rosie Chapman and slotting home to give Phantoms the lead.

Phantoms then extended that lead with an unassisted goal from #43 Hollie Barnes, before Evan completed her hat-trick in the final minutes of the period. The Red Kites also managed to pull one back in the dying moments with an unassisted goal that was slotted home past Chapman.

The final period saw Phantoms on an early penalty kill through a hooking call, which the team successfully killed off. The Red Kites then even the score at 5-5 with less than 10 minutes remaining, before Evans completed her goal tally with number four, unassisted, with around 5 minutes to play, therefore sealing the 6-5 win for her side - a result which sees the team finish in second place overall in their Frank Wright Conference group.

With the season complete, Phantoms Women now look forward to summer training as preparations for the 2026/2027 season begin.

Hollie was awarded 'Player of the Game' in our final home fixture of 2025/2026 against the Chelmsford Adders. The forward (turned defender) played an excellent all round game with great work ethic.
