We brought the curtain down on a massively successful season last night with our end of season awards. Winners below with a few words from our coach:

Best Newcomer: Ellis Tyler
‘Ellis came down to training early in the year and fit in straight away, he’s quickly become one of our strongest outside backs and has already demonstrated massive commitment to the team’

Clubman of the Year: Luke Whitby
‘As well as fulfilling his duties as captain, Luke has shown a massive amount of dedication to the team and he was integral to us becoming part of Peterborough which ultimately has been the making of us’

Player’s Player: Henry Hobson
‘The one award I had no involvement in, it was a landslide victory to Henry who was a well worthy winner’

Man of Steel: Chris Sykes
‘The big one(both the award and the man)! A huge presence on the field who always rallies the troops with a big hit or a big carry, we couldn’t have done it without him’

CHAMPIONS

It wasn’t a dream! The boys managed to beat an incredibly tough Staffordshire side on Saturday to be crowned league champions.

A 13 game unbeaten season ending with the trophy was pretty special. I think some of the boys are still nursing a hangover but it was all worth it, we won’t be forgetting this one in a while.

Those boys still feeling dodgy will need to get over it quick as attention turns to our end of year presentation this Friday. Plenty of awards to give out and a lot to celebrate. Stay tuned to see the winners!

FINALS WEEK

It call comes down to this! This weekend sees us play in the Division 1 Final against Staffordshire.

The lads are raring to go and it promises to be an absolute belter of a game. Finals day for Midlands RL is being held at Sherwood Wolfhunt RLFC. Our KO is 1pm with the Premier Final directly afterwards at 3pm.

Borough survived quite the scare from a really strong Leamington side to progress to the grand final. Our opponents next week will be Staffordshire Quantams after they dispatched NEW Ravens.
