Jordan with his first ever salmon today, followed up soon after by his second ever salmon and a third lost!
Well done Jordan 👍
Meikleour Fishings offer one of the best salmon fishing experiences on the River Tay.
Set in the heart of glorious Perthshire, approximately one hour's drive from Edinburgh and 20 minutes from Perth, the Upper Islamouth & Meikleour House Beat is one of the most productive beats on the River Tay and arguably the most pictureque. We have 2 boats, two highly experienced ghillies and two exceptional fishing huts, one at Meikleour House and one at Ferry cottage, and we can accommodate u

A fine fish for Viv right at the end of the day from the Rushes. The low water is making things challenging but we continue to pick away. Congratulations also to George who caught this grilse from the March Pool yesterday.

The hoped for increase in water levels after yesterdays rain never came to much and we saw a lift of only a couple of inches today. It did liven things up a bit though and Neil Sayers managed a couple of fish this afternoon. One from the Castle Pool and another from the Cormorant Tree. He also lost fish in the Tunnel Stream.
*Availability*
We now have one boat available on the 10th, 11th and 12th September. This is the last boat available this season.
Please contact Pamela in our office on 01250 883 424 for further details.
Tight lines!

Hot, hot, hot 🔥
The fishing has been anything but easy with this very hot weather and continued low water but we are picking away and managing fish most days. The deeper water around the Meadows is unsurprisingly where most of the success is coming from.
Congratulations to Mr. Neve who managed his first ever salmon today - a grilse from the Meadows.
Finally some water - not a lot of water, but some water! It took until the very last cast of the day for us to land one - the other four hooked today all came off….Well done Louise Swan who caught this lovely wee grilse from the Castle Pool. What a perfect way to start your holidays.
A friendly note:
One of our regular rods has needed to shuffle some dates a bit, so we now have one boat available on the following dates:
Thursday August 20th (Now Booked)
Friday August 21st (Now Booked)
Wednesday August 26th
These are the last boats remaining in August, September and October this season.
If any of these are of interest please contact Pamela in our office on 01250 883 424 or [email protected]
Many thanks.

Ian Farnell catching a wee grilse of 4lbs from the Cormorant Tree a few minutes ago. It’s had a close encounter with something but happily it’s lived to tell the tale!
I’m happy to say that Ian added to this one with another grilse from the Cormorant Tree this afternoon.

Oooooft….that was another scorcher of a day! Despite the conditions Mr. Emm persevered and was rewarded with a 7lb’er from the Castle and a 6lb’er from the House Pool.

How about this for lunch done properly! Well done to the Taylor party who were clearly enjoying their day yesterday.
We are very fortunate to have two wonderful 'huts' at Meikleour. The lower one situated by Kinclaven Bridge is where we meet in the morning at the start of your fishing day and this is where we usually have lunch.
The upper hut is surrounded by beautiful flowers and majestic trees and overlooks the tail of the Boxwood Bush and Pumphouse Croy.
If you have something special to celebrate or simply enjoy the intimacy of the top hut and it’s pretty riverside setting, then please let Calum and Ian know and they will be happy to make arrangements for you.
Both huts have identical facilities: Oven, microwave, kettle, tea & coffee facilities, dishwasher, toilet and heating.
You just have to provide the food and angling tales 🙂
