Players to meet at Doo’cot for 5:00pm.

1st XI

All is not lost in the SPCU North East Championship title race.

Having lost to fellow contenders, Huntly last weekend, the 1st XI title hopes seemed all but over heading into Saturday’s clash with top of the league, Aberdeenshire.

PDCC lost the toss and were asked to bowl first on a green deck at Doo’cot park. Rory and Saffy led from the front with some tight bowling, reducing the league leaders to 77-4. This led to the introduction of Babar who would take 5-14 to help bowl Aberdeenshire out for 130.

In the end, the chase would be fairly straight forward for the Perth boys. Even though PDCC lost 4 wickets for 29 runs, Asif Naeem and Homayon dealt with the pressure excellently and put on 60 runs to guide us to victory.

After Huntly’s loss to Crescent, PDCC are still very much in with a shout of winning the league, promising for a very exciting final day next week.

2nd XI

The 2nd XI travelled through to Dundee to take on an in-form Kinloch side at Elliot Road. Batting first, PDCC got off to a good start, finding themselves with a good platform at 135-4 in the 34th over. However, losing Jamal and Ibadullah in the same over would prove costly as the lower order would collapse and PDCC would end up 167 all out.

PDCC were in with a good chance of defending the total when they had Kinloch 74-5, including a screamer of a catch from Jamal. However, a 6th wicket partnership of 80 would take the game away from PDCC and Kinloch would go on to win by 4 wickets.

3rd XI

The 3rd XI saw us welcome Freuchie 2nd XI to Doo’cot park. PDCC couldn’t have asked for a better start as they had the opposition 12-5 thanks to superb opening spells from George and Tawhid. However, a couple of good partnerships allowed Freuchie to recover and set a total of 129 from their 40 overs.

The game could have gone either way in the second innings, PDCC looked like they would chase the total down with the class of Fawad at the crease, but when he got out, regular wickets began to fall and despite a hard fought chase, PDCC fell 4 runs short as they were bowled out for 125.

U16 SCOTTISH CUP CHAMPIONS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏆

Congratulations to our U16s, who were victorious yesterday afternoon vs Aberdeenshire CC in the final of the U16s Scottish Cup at Meigle CC.

PDCC won the toss and elected to bowl first. Aberdeenshire came out strong and played positively within the first 5 overs with the breakthrough coming from Felix A with a well delivered yorker to break the partnership. George B showed his class with 4 overs of controlled left arm spin to limit the rate and build the pressure. Aberdeenshire then kicked on further in the final 5 overs to reach 122/5 after their 20 overs.

PDCC began their chase strong with Sam D and Aaban O. After Sam fell for a well earned 26. PDCC looked to release the pressure with Harris H helping this. After Harris fell, Felix A came in and continued this approach. It came to the final over with 6 runs required off 6 balls after a wide and a wicket, 5 runs were required. In steps Finn D to finish the job smashing two fours down the leg side to get PDCC over the line and claim the victory by 6 wickets.
