🎯 Emelia’s WDF Weekend Debut Continues! 🎯

Today saw the WDF Youth Open Girls’ Round Robin, with two groups — one of 5 girls and one of 6. There was certainly no easy group, and Emelia found herself in a group alongside World No.1 ranked girl Paige Pauling, Welsh Internationalist Tia Sterio, and two up-and-coming players, Abbi Ettridge and Gracie Willmitt.

🎯 Match 1 – Paige Pauling

Emelia got her campaign off to a fantastic start by winning the bull and then taking the first leg! Paige fought back to level, but Emelia produced another brilliant leg to go 2-1 up.

Paige then produced a brilliant 114 checkout to make it 2-2.

Paige hit a 180 in the deciding leg but couldn’t convert the double. Emelia held her nerve and, after busting 55 on her first attempt, finally put it to bed at the second time of asking! 🎯👏🏻

Emelia won 3-2!

What a match! Even though Paige wasn’t performing anywhere near the level she normally can, credit where credit is due — Emelia’s grit, determination and ability to keep fighting shone through. ❤️

🎯 Match 2 – Gracie Willmitt

Unfortunately, Emelia just didn’t get out of the blocks in this one and Gracie was on form.

A 3-0 loss, but there was still plenty to play for.

🎯 Match 3 – Tia Sterio

Despite not winning the bull, Emelia raced into a 2-0 lead!

She checked out 32 with her first dart in the opening leg, followed by a 52 checkout in 2 darts in the second. 🔥

Tia upped her game and fought back to 2-2, but once again Emelia’s grit and determination came through. She found the 32 with her third dart and took the match 3-2! 👏🏻🎯

🎯 Match 4 – Abbi Ettridge

Unfortunately, Emelia’s scoring power deserted her once again. Abbi had been brilliant all day and was simply too strong for Emelia, who went down 3-0.

After Emelia’s match with Paige, Paige unfortunately had to withdraw from the competition. This left Emelia’s group with just four girls, while the other group still had six.

Emelia’s results placed her 3rd in the group, but we then discovered that four girls from each group would progress to the quarter-finals — meaning every girl from Emelia’s group progressed! 🙌🏻

🎯 Quarter-Final – Macy Gibbons

Emelia faced an in-form Macy Gibbons, who raced into a 2-0 lead.

The third leg was much closer, with Macy missing the double and giving Emelia an opportunity to get herself back into the match.

Unfortunately, Emelia couldn’t capitalise on the chance and left herself 5, before Macy eventually found the double to take the match 3-0.

And just like that, Emelia’s WDF Youth Open Girls’ campaign came to an end. ❤️🎯

But WOW… what a fantastic effort from our very own Emelia! 🥰

To go into her first WDF Youth Open, find herself in a group with the World No.1, a Welsh Internationalist and two very talented young players, and come away with wins over Paige and Tia is something she should be incredibly proud of.

There are so many positives to take forward — and plenty for her to learn from too.

The biggest thing for parents Glen & Jenni today was seeing her fight, dig deep and never give up, even when things weren’t going her way.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Emelia. ❤️

Great to be back with this bunch! Eased ourselves in with adult/youth doubles fun comp which was won by Mason and Scott who narrowly defeated Freddie and George. Not sure how the older session went as I'm now a part timer. Will post once I have info 😁🎯

We have one or 2 spaces available. Session times are 6 to 7pm and 7 to 8pm for different age groups.
