This Friday (25th September) marks the end of an era — my last class in the old Langwathby Village Hall. I’ve taught there for 20 years, starting in the little room with 4 or 5 people as part of adult education, while pregnant with Norman (who turned 20 last week!).
There have been pauses for babies, a burst appendix and COVID. People have come and gone, each leaving their own mark. One incredible lady kept attending until she was 99. And in the early days I had a regular who always wore a skirt — something you don’t see in class anymore.
If you’ve ever been part of a session, please come along, or pop in at the end — I’d love to capture one final photo of everyone who’s been part of this journey.
Class runs Fridays 10.15–11.15am. I’ll have to dash by 11.30 due to work, so sadly can’t linger.
As the hall is demolished, we’ll move to Hunsonby Community Centre, so classes will continue — just in a new location.
Enjoy the photos from across the years.
