Enduro started out as the people's format - the closest racing to what we all did on our mountain bikes. It had over a dozen years of solid growth and brought thousands of new riders into MTB, but now - notably since it was taken over by WBD/UCI and seemingly administered from Innerleithen (jeez, the irony) - it's hit the skids in a big way, with next year's Enduro World Cup binned.
So what's behind the failure - poor management, market forces, corporate greed, industry problems..?
Either way this sucks and it's been sad to watch the 'spirit of enduro' vibe decline like it has.
So is it RIP for enduro? Or time for a (perhaps less corporate) phoenix?

Several weeks on from Glentress 7, and we're still smiling! What an unforgettable day of racing, brilliant vibes, and an incredible riding community coming together ❤️

We took in a GT7 lap this afternoon and met Andy from working away on Hit Squad Hill.

The course is looking prime, with a few sections being tidied up this week, ready for the big day.

A couple of areas are still closed due to big old machines working in the area, so please wait until race day to check those out. You know what curiosity did to the cat...

Calling all mountain bikers riding in the Tweed Valley - which is where you'll be riding at Glentress 7 - we'd love for you to 'Give us a Quid' or even 'Half a Quid' !!

Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team - run by volunteers 24 hours a day, every day - provides you all with a world class, free and cheery rescue service when you need it. Which is often after a serious fall on our stunning official (and unofficial) valley trails.

And they do this because just like you they are all bikers, runners, climbers, walkers and hill users and they want to help. However, at £55k per year to run the team, just keeping it going is proving increasingly hard, as their outgoings are becoming more than their income.

This is why they need YOU as much as you may need THEM.

So go on, the next time you are out on your bike practising for GT7 - think first about getting down the trail, obviously - then about giving them a quid (or half a quid, or several quid!!).

If TVMRT could get £1 from every rider on the trails in the Valley, think how good that would be ? You've paid thousands for that bike and gear of yours...so go on... 'Give us a Quid'

You'll see the team out on the hill at Glentress 7 providing medic support for all our riders. They gladly give up their time, just so you can have a good time.
