Can I come to Pilates without my baby?

If you are postnatal and want to attend Pilates but would rather not come to a mum and baby class, you absolutely can join a regular class.

Knowing at what postpartum stage you are at means I can adapt any exercises for you.

And you are always able to rest and take it slower in class. You don't have to keep up with anyone else.

Enquire now if you are ready to join a class after having a baby.

Have you tried reformer Pilates yet?

Mat and Reformer are both great but they can support and challenge you in different ways.

It can support you in exercises you find hard on the mat.

It can challenge your body in different ways to mat.

It can give you feedback that you may not get on the mat, which can really make a difference to making sure the right muscles are working and to help improve core strength.

If you find it difficult to get up and down from the mat, then the reformer can make the difference and allow you to continue with Pilates.

If you are ready to give Reformer Pilates a go, we have some spaces left for Wednesday 6.30pm class. DM me to get booked in.

I've heard so often people saying they can't join a class yet because they aren't fit enough, but you don't need to be fit to start.

You just need to start!

You come to Pilates to get stronger, more flexible, to have a stronger core.

Your fitness will improve as a result of the Pilates classes.

So, please don't let that stop you.

Message me if you are at all worried about joining a class or if you want more info on how to book your spot.

If you've had an injury or gone through a difficult childbirth, it can be hard to trust the body, which is why we want to focus on that first before going onto the harder exercises.

Having that trust in the body means you know when something is too much, when the next level is the right time, and it means the body can relax.

When you are feeling scared of exercise because you are worried you will hurt yourself, the body tenses up, which means you are more likely to hurt yourself, or the wrong muscles can take over.

So we want to rebuild trust with the body first, then move onto the higher intensity, harder exercises.

Follow for more.

If you have back pain you absolutely can join a Pilates class. Make sure to let me know beforehand that you have back pain, so I can give you modifications or alternatives.

You will find that over time Pilates is easing your back pain and you can do more in class, which is ultimately what we want, to get rid of the back pain.

DM me to join a class or if you have questions.
