Good to get back to league action after our recent cup matches.

Last weeks loss in the West Region cup was disappointing and the lads we’re desperate to put on a better performance, which they did.

Changes were made and all the boys responded positively.

MoM went to our captain Harris who filled in at centre back. He commanded the back line well and led by example.

Glenvale Whites v Barrhead Santos

Back to league action this Friday under the lights at Ferguslie.

Unfortunately the team are significantly depleted with at least 8 regular starters missing through injury and illness.
We will work hard for each other and show the resilience we always have.

League Cup

Glenvale Whites 1 v 8 Gleniffer Thistle

Tough result to swallow, however our season will not be defined by this result against one of the best U17 teams in West of Scotland.

We started reasonably well with some chances and reducing Gleniffers chances, however after 15 mins we went 0-1 down and it all unravelled from there. 5 mins later we lost 3 players through injury leaving us with limited options and players playing out of position.
Pitch and conditions were horrible which also didn’t help.
In the end Gleniffer showed their quality and strength in depth and went on to win 1-8 with a few late goals which were tough for the lads to take.
We pick ourselves up and move on with plenty to still play for.

Probably our toughest match we’ll have all season against one of the best youth football teams in West of Scotland.
The boys are going into match feeling good and in good form.

Port Glasgow 0 v 4 Glenvale Whites

Hard fought match against a tough Port team. With a depleted squad the team had to dig deep and push all the way to the end.
Fraser opened the scoring early in the first half to give us the deserved lead. Despite have many chances to put the game to bed early, we just couldn’t capitalise. A mix of Port being difficult to break down and their keeper have an amazing day.
In second half Ethan came on with around 30 minutes left and scored a hat trick with the third being pick of the bunch after we missed a penalty the ball was given to Ethan on edge of box and he curled low in corner with his left foot.
In the end 0-4 was the least we deserved.

MoM would usually be given to anyone scoring a hat trick, however Fraser worked hard for the 90 mins and also got a great goal to put us in the lead.

Port Glasgow Juniors v Glenvale Whites

Tough game ahead as always. We are keen to keep positive momentum going after our great win last week.

Renfrew Vics 2 - 5 Glenvale Whites

After the game being postponed last week due to poor weather. The boys were desperate to get back on the pitch.

It was a great win after being 2-0 at HT. To score 5 2nd half goals against a very good Div 1 team is fantastic. To a man the boys were excellent 👏
