Meet Siegi, one of our new tour guides for 2024! π
She loves meeting people and showing them around Oxford, seeing her role as a blind date on a bike, but with a unique twist - showing new friends the very best bits of Oxford and leaving them eager to discover some of its lesser-known areas.
Siegi loves history, in particular the Beguine movement. She also enjoys photography and open water swimming πΈπββοΈ
Her favourite part of Oxford and the surrounding area is Port Meadow and the beautiful countryside within the Oxford ring road.
Our most multilingual tour guide, Siegi speaks Dutch, French, English and German...and she drinks Belgian beer. π³π± π«π· π¬π§ π©πͺ π§πͺ πΊ

This lovely Australian couple used electric bikes for their tour, which included a stop at Godstow Abbey, a Benedictine nunnery, to the north of Oxford.
History and cycling, the perfect combination ππ΄

Still in research mode for a number of reasons.... but bike tours of Oxford bookings coming up.
In the meantime enjoy some random pictures of North Wales. I can't guarantee my English tongue enables me to correctly pronounce all the place names correctly, but I try. I recently crossed the Pontcysyllte acquaduct that carries the Llangollen canal 120ft high over the local valley. Just along the canal is the Chirk acquaduct at a mere 70ft. (That also spans the England/ Wales border!). The railway bridge next to it was deliberately built higher to show the train's dominance over the canal.
Not sure you see statements like that in modern construction

Hope to be posting a bit more in the coming weeks. More tours booked. Weather improving and a few technical issues with FB resolved
Will also be sharing pictures from Llangollen in north Wales that I hope to incorporate into a tour of Wales

A sad time in the UK as we mourn the passing of The Queen.
A fascinating time to see the ancient historic traditions we maintain as the new King is proclaimed
Lots of ceremony today at St. James' Palace

On the way to Sidmouth, where they serve coffee in a 700 year old former pub, I stumbled across this beautiful church. The stone coffin of St. Branwallader lies outside, and original Saxon stone word and medieval Wall paintings can be seen inside. They also have a kneeling cushion to represent each king and queen of England since Stephen in the 12th century
