That’s a wrap on the weekend! 🎶🚣
We had a fantastic time at the City of Oxford Royal Regatta this weekend. All of our crews gave it their all, and although there were no wins for us this time, we couldn’t be prouder of how well everyone rowed. Some brilliant racing across the board and plenty to be proud of.
Huge thanks to City of Oxford Rowing Club for putting on another fabulous regatta and giving us the chance to race on our home stretch of the Isis❤️🖤

📣Crew Announcements📣
Thanks to City of Oxford Rowing Club hosting their annual regatta, we’ve got a lot of crews racing this weekend — and a particularly impressive turnout from the men, who have apparently mistaken the regatta for Glastonbury.
On the women’s side, we’ve got a 1x making her comeback to singles racing after a capsized-induced concussion, a women’s 8 who have been putting the training in, and a women’s quad ready to get stuck in.
The men, meanwhile, have brought the band names:
🎸 The Beatles — George, Paul, Jo(h)n and Darren “Ringo” Starr
🕺 The Pair-t Shop Boys — trying to reprise their Cambridge hit “Always on My Line”
🪣 The Pair — a two-man band back on tour in their signature matching bucket hats and checked Lycra
💙 Blue, Duran Duran & Take That — three quads, one questionable playlist
🌸 Florence & the Machines and Wu-Tang — two men’s eights, because apparently one wasn’t enough
Plus a mixed double to keep things interesting.
These crews are ready to rule the river, be row-torious and prove that the dog days are oar.
The stage is set on the Isis. Accies are ready to make some noise. 🎶🚣

Last night saw Accies gather for the annual Summer Party, and what a night it was! ☀️
There were fiercely competitive games of croquet (because apparently no Accies event can remain non-competitive for long), loaded fries that disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived 🍟, plenty of questionable-but-enthusiastic dance moves 💃, and enough Pimms to keep the party spirit flowing well into the evening🍹
The sun was shining, everyone was on great form, and the classic Accies spirit was out in full force. It was wonderful to see so many old friends, new faces, honorary Accies and assorted rowing hangers-on all enjoying a fantastic summer evening together.
A huge thank you to Lamb Catering and Events | Workplace Catering | Weddings for the fabulous food — we were well and truly spoilt!
Here’s to another brilliant summer gathering and many more to come❤️🖤

🖤❤️Bridgnorth Regatta Round-Up❤️🖤
Recently, we raced at Bridgnorth Regatta for the first time, taking seven crews from the men’s and women’s squads across doubles, pairs, fours and eights.
The round-robin format gave every crew the opportunity to gain valuable side-by-side racing experience, with each boat competing in multiple races throughout the day. Although we didn’t come away with any overall wins, every crew secured at least one race victory — a great achievement and a fantastic start to the summer racing season.
A huge thank you to Bridgnorth Rowing Club for hosting a brilliant regatta, and to everyone who supported and encouraged the crews throughout the day. A great first summer regatta and a strong foundation to build from over the coming weeks!❤️🖤

We have 7 crews entered across multiple different boat classes and can’t wait to get out there for our first regatta of the season!
Wishing all racers the very best of luck - go Accies!💪❤️🖤

Introducing the newest recruits to the Accies family!
Cubert now has a baby brother and sister… meet The Fred Fox Shed Box (known simply as Fred) and The Florence Perch (Flo)!
Named after our legendary coach Fred Fox, Fred has taken on the vital role of storing rowing equipment — trestles, buckets, wet towels, sponges, and all the other essentials — while also helping keep Cubert a little less soggy. Early signs suggest he’s already outperforming several members in basic organisation.
Flo, named after nearby Florence Park (home turf for many of our members), has quickly established herself as the go-to venue for deep tactical discussions, post-row snacks, and the occasional existential crisis.
Together, they’ll be affectionately known as Fred & Flo — which, fittingly, is also the name of Tesco’s baby clothing range. We’re still waiting on the sponsorship deal… Tesco fancy a brand deal? 👀
Huge thanks to Oxford Wood Recycling for helping us bring Fred into the fold — he’s settling in brilliantly and, unlike the rest of us, seems completely unfazed by the British weather.
