💚🐴 WHAT A DAY! – THANK YOU FROM ORSETT SHOW HORSE SECTION 🐴💚

What a fantastic Orsett Show 2026!

After months of planning and preparation, it was wonderful to see our Horse Section so busy, our rings full and so many competitors and spectators enjoying the day in the beautiful sunshine. ☀️

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Horse Section such a success.

Firstly, to our incredible Horse Section sponsors. Your generosity and continued support enables us to put on the show that we do. From classes and championships to rosettes and prizes your support makes such a difference and we genuinely could not do it without you.

To our judges, stewards, officials and volunteers thank you for giving your time, knowledge and enthusiasm so generously. A show of this size simply cannot run without the many people working both in front of and behind the scenes.

A very special thank you must go to our Horse Section Committee, who work tirelessly throughout the year to bring everything together. The work involved goes far beyond Show Day, with countless hours of planning and preparation taking place behind the scenes. We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team.

And of course, a huge thank you to every competitor who supported us this year. Whether you have been coming to Orsett for years or 2026 was your first visit, we hope you had a wonderful day. Seeing such busy classes and so many beautiful horses and ponies across the showground made all the hard work worthwhile.

Finally, thank you to everyone who came through the gates, supported the Horse Section, cheered from the ringside and helped create such a lovely atmosphere throughout the day.

🐴🌾 ORSETT SHOW – IMPORTANT HORSE SECTION INFORMATION! 🌾🐴

With just ONE DAY TO GO here’s everything you need to know to help get your Orsett Show morning off to a smooth start! 💚💛

Please take a moment to read the information below before setting off tomorrow.

⭐ Numbers & wristbands will be ready for collection from the Horse Section Number Collection Tent in the horsebox car park in an envelope under the name used on your booking.

⭐ The Number Collection Tent is located next to the entrance to the showground from the horsebox car park.

⭐ Please remember your horse’s passport! Passports will be randomly checked on arrival.

⭐ There are tannoy systems throughout the horsebox car park and in the large collecting area by the rings with our fabulous commentators keeping you informed and updated throughout the day.

⭐ Extra standard wristbands can be purchased when you collect your numbers.

Please allow yourselves plenty of time to arrive, collect your envelope, get settled and be ready for your classes. 🐴

After months of planning and preparation, we are nearly there! We absolutely cannot wait to welcome you all to Orsett Show tomorrow, Saturday 5th September. 💚💛

🐴 NEW FOR 2026 – HORSE WELFARE & BIOSECURITY POLICY 🐴

As part of our continued commitment to the health, welfare and safety of every horse and pony attending The Orsett Show, we are pleased to release our 2026 Horse Welfare & Biosecurity Policy Booklet.

With the challenging conditions we have experienced this season, together with the importance of protecting our horses from infectious disease, we felt it was important to bring all of our welfare and biosecurity information together into one clear document.

The booklet covers horse welfare and fitness to compete, passports and vaccinations, infectious disease precautions, biosecurity protocols, responsibilities of competitors and officials, and the role of our Show Veterinary Officer. It also explains the measures that will be in place throughout the Horse Section on Saturday 5th September 2026.

💚 Horse welfare will always come first at The Orsett Show.

We ask ALL competitors, exhibitors, owners, grooms and handlers attending the Horse Section to please read the booklet carefully before travelling to the show. By entering and attending, participants are confirming that they have read, understood and agree to comply with the policy.

We know that some of the decisions we have had to make this year have been incredibly difficult, but they have all been made with one priority at their heart — the welfare and safety of our horses and ponies.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding, cooperation and support in helping us make the 2026 Orsett Show Horse Section a safe, responsible and enjoyable event for horses and people alike. 💚🐴

🎟️✨ GOLDEN TICKETS ARE COMING TO ORSETT! ✨🎟️

Keep your eyes peeled during our morning classes at The Orsett Show. 👀💚

At the judges discretion Golden Tickets will be awarded during our morning classes, giving lucky competitors the opportunity to enter the corresponding Orsett Elite Class that afternoon. 🏆✨

If you’re lucky enough to receive one, simply take your Golden Ticket to the Horse Section Secretaries Tent and enter your Elite class as soon as possible.

This really is it — there will be NO further extensions.

⏰ Entries close at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!

🐴 Once entries close at midnight, no new competitors will be able to enter.

➕ If you have already entered the show, you will be able to add additional classes on the day, subject to availability.

❌ However, you MUST have made an entry before midnight tonight to be eligible to add classes on the day.

💚 We have extended entries as far as we possibly can, so please don’t leave it too late — once midnight arrives, that really is it!

💚 Everyone is welcome at The Orsett Show! 💚

Our Physical Impairment, Additional Needs & Neurodiverse Classes are all about inclusion, participation and enjoying your horse or pony. 🐴✨

⭐ Class 2 – In-Hand
⭐ Class 5 – Ridden

These classes are open to riders and handlers with a physical impairment, additional need or neurodiversity, who may find competing in regular classes more challenging.

🌟 Judged on participation, not perfection!
Competitors will be marked on:
60% – Turnout of horse/pony & rider/handler
30% – Manners of the horse/pony
10% – The bond between horse/pony & rider/handler

💚 Helpers are welcome, with the emphasis firmly on enjoyment, partnership and taking part.

🏆 PLUS – a dedicated Additional Needs Championship!
Competitors from Classes 2 & 5 only will go forward to their very own Additional Needs Championship, with Champion & Reserve Champion to be awarded. 🏆
