Omagh Football Reunion
Pat Mc Glynn, Terry Bonner, Robbie Houston and Adrian Hopkins are among a host of players from the 1960s, 70s and 80’s that played with Omagh Town who are set to reunite at Broderick's Bar in the town on August 7th. Since the call went out old memories of the Quarry and the Showgrounds have been relived and recalled by players and supporters alike.
With ex players set to come together, some who haven’t seen it each other for several decades some players are hard to contact so the appeal is made for any players who played for the Celtic and Town in that era to come along for what will be a special night.
There are over 200 players who have played in that era, some have made one appearance, players such as Mc Glynn, Bonner, Sean Healy, Seamus Bonner and Hoppy played for a dozen seasons other such as Adrian Cush and Kieran Tourish played for a couple of terms but all have been part of the Town journey.
Organisers promise a night of nostalgia with cuttings from the era, photos, conversation and craic with the event getting under way from 7-30pm. They have also asked for former players to get in touch to confirm their attendance via whats app 07762814881 or on the Omagh Football page.

DATE CONFIRMATION
AUGUST 7TH AT Broderick's Bar OMAGH

A Night Of B Division football Memories for all former players from Omagh Town or Omagh Celtic in the 1960s. 1970s and 1980s is set for Brodericks Bar on George's Street on Friday August 7th from 7-30pm. .if you played football for Omagh Town in the B division this is set to be a night of reunion ,chat and craic.

Former players from the formative club of Celtic to Omagh Town that played for the club through the Showgrounds years in the old B Division will reunite for what will be a very special night of nostalgia, memories, stories and craic. If you played football for Kevlin, Dunbreen, Shelbourne or White Hart there’s a fair chance you played for Town too.
From Adrian Hopkins, “The Red Man” Norman Laughlin, Ian Scott, Brendan Johns, Marty Gormley, Robbie Houston, Patsy Hetherington and Harry Mulligan through to Gerry Raflewski, Pat Sharkey, The Ballard’s , The Bonners, Mickey O, The Donnelly’s to the legend that is Paul Mc Anea this is set to be a night to remember for former players and those who supported them at the old Showgrounds.
The club formed as Omagh Celtic moved into the North West league as Omagh Town before being accepted into the B division playing at the Showgrounds. Through the 70s and up until The famous Rouses Red Army these were at times difficult days for Town albeit memorable.
Over the years Celtic and The Town had several managers starting with Ennis Mc Geehan with the leadership skills of Davy Mc Farland , Neill Barbour, Patsy O’Donnell, Davy Malcolmson, Eamon Mc Gale and of course Danny “Bomber” Rouse with players from throughout the district, the North West, Fermanagh and Donegal all coming on board over two decades at the famous old venue.
Who remembers the cold wind whipping off the river, Rouses Red Army, the big days when Linfield and Glentoran came to the sandy Showgrounds, Shaker Bonner's goals, Pat Sharkey's return, Hoppy and Hetherington, crunching tackles from Big Raff and wee Bones, Liam Donnelly’s hat trick against Newry Town, the big RUC games, the old tin hut dressing rooms and of course MAXI ....? If you played or supported this will be the night for you.

Anyone interested should go to the Omagh Football page or what's app their interest to 07762814881
Anyone with Strabane, North West, Fermanagh, Donegal connections might share as we are really reaching out to former players
