I’m a parenting and youth coach and I’d love to help you navigate the joy of parenting. Read more about this on our website...

My name is Oyin and I struggled with my self esteem as a teenager, and had to deal with a lot more issues than most teenager do. Thankfully, I was able to do practical things to navigate that season of my life. Having worked with young people for more than 20 years, I have seen first hand some of the struggles they go through and have been able to help a lot of young people navigate through these

One of the hardest transitions in parenting is accepting that your role has changed.

Your adult children don’t need a manager anymore.

They’ll make decisions you wouldn’t make. They’ll learn lessons you wish they could avoid. That’s part of becoming an adult.

Your job is no longer to control every choice.

It’s to remain the kind of parent they still want to call when life gets hard.

Sometimes, the greatest act of love is letting go... without letting the relationship go.

At 83, She’s Still Playing Tennis, Table Tennis and Golf. What’s Her Secret?

What if getting older didn’t mean slowing down?

In this episode of Keeping It Real with Oyin, I sit down with an incredible 83-year-old who is still playing tennis, table tennis, and golf—and proving that age doesn’t have to be a barrier to living an active, fulfilling life.

We talk about longevity, health, mindset, and the everyday choices that help us keep showing up for ourselves, year after year.

This conversation isn’t just for older adults. It’s for anyone who wants to build habits today that they’ll thank themselves for tomorrow.

Talking to Children About S*x: If You Don't, Someone Else Will 09/07/2026

If you don't talk to your child about s*x... someone else will.

It might be their friends.
It might be social media.
It might be the internet.

The real question is: Who do you want shaping your child's understanding of relationships, boundaries, consent, and respect?

In my latest blog, I share why these conversations don't have to be awkward—and why they should start much earlier than many parents think.

S*x Education: The Parenting Conversation We Keep Avoiding

If you don’t talk to your child about s*x...

Someone else will.

In this episode of Keeping It Real with Oyin, we’re having one of the conversations many parents avoid—but one that every child needs.

We talk about why s*x education starts with trust, not fear, how to create a safe space for honest questions, and why avoiding the conversation doesn’t protect our children—it often leaves them searching for answers elsewhere.

These conversations may feel uncomfortable, but they’re too important to ignore.

A disconnected teenager often becomes defensive, secretive, withdrawn, or reactive.

Not always because they are “bad”.

Sometimes, it’s because the relationship no longer feels emotionally safe.

Connecting with our teens matters more than parents think.

How Well Do You Know Your Teenager? 02/07/2026

"I don't know what has happened to my teenager..."
I hear this from parents all the time.

The truth is, your teen has changed—and that's exactly what they're meant to do.
The challenge is making sure we're getting to know who they're becoming, instead of holding on to who they used to be.

In this week's blog, I share why curiosity can change everything and how a stronger relationship starts with asking better questions.
