🌿 Alternative Provision at Made-Well 🌿

Every young person is different, and sometimes a different approach to learning can make all the difference.

Made-Well is a Devon County Council (DCC) approved Alternative Provision provider, offering a welcoming and supportive environment at our rural site in Hatherleigh.

Our Alternative Provision is shaped around the individual young person – their needs, interests, strengths and goals. We aim to create positive learning experiences that help young people build confidence, develop practical and life skills, and feel a sense of achievement.

🪵 Woodwork and practical activities
🎨 Arts and crafts
🍳 Cooking and life skills
💛 Wellbeing, confidence and social development

We can offer individual and small group provision, as well as 1:1 support where required.

We know that visiting somewhere new can feel like a big step, so taster sessions can be arranged, giving young people the opportunity to meet us, explore Made-Well and get a feel for what we offer.

Just a reminder that our SENsory Nest Playgroup and Parent & Carer Support Group are not running today due to staff holidays.

🌊🏄 Surf Therapy Adventures! 🏄‍♀️🌊

Last Monday, some of the people we support and young people from our Home Education Social Group headed out for a fantastic surf therapy session! 🌊💙

It was brilliant to see everyone getting involved, enjoying the water, building confidence and having fun.

At Made-Well, we believe in inclusion, enabling support and helping people achieve their goals – because the sky’s the limit! 🙌✨

A huge thank you to ERA Adventures for a fantastic session and for making everyone feel so welcome and supported.

We’re looking forward to more surf therapy adventures! 🏄‍♂️🌊

Laura Feaver, our Designated Safeguarding Lead, attended this training today. It was a really valuable and engaging session delivered by an excellent trainer. We would highly recommend Wright Way Training! 🌟 Thank you, Hannah! 😊

Today we were in Okehampton delivering Safeguarding Adults for Managers training on behalf of My Way Support. One of the most important courses in the health and social care industry delivered by Hannah Sherfield-Wright who has extensive knowledge and experience in this area, not only in care, but in education too. It is so important for safeguarding training to be delivered face to face so staff have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences. At Wright Way Training we ONLY deliver face to face courses.

🍂 Looking for a school trip this autumn term?

Be back to school ready by booking your class for a hands-on day of animal care, gardening and outdoor learning at Made-Well.

Children can get involved with caring for our animals, exploring the garden, learning about growing and discovering where food comes from. These practical activities can link into the curriculum, including science, nature, food and the environment.

Our activities are designed to be accessible and inclusive, giving children of all abilities the chance to get involved, learn new skills and enjoy being outdoors.

The summer holidays might be coming to an end, but there’s still time for a family day out this weekend! 🌞

Made-Well is a great place for affordable, accessible family fun, with plenty to see and do. Our gardens, animal barn, garden games and playground are all open daily from 9am to 4pm, and best of all, they’re completely FREE! 🎉

Our playground even includes wheelchair accessible equipment, so everyone can join in the fun. 💚 Not quite ready for the school run yet? No problem! If you’ve got little ones who aren’t school age yet, we’re open weekdays too!
