The inaugural Oban Sea Kayak Race for single and double sea kayaks, including surf skis, took place in September 2010 and has since raised £26,000 for Oban's lifeboat. 2013 saw another very competitive field take to the water, in very calm, sunny conditions, which made for very fast times and PB's for almost everyone taking part. 2013 also saw record entries, with 85 kayakers starting and finishing in Oban Bay. £2,800 was raised for The Oban Lifeboat.

BREAKING NEWS.
Unfortunately, do to lack of entries, The Oban Sea Kayak Race will not take place this year.
This decision has not been taken lightly, by those of us who have given their time and enthusiasm to the event since 2010.
But with so few entries, so late on, we cannot continue with the 2025 Race.
For the few who have entered, we are willing to refund you the full amount, or if you wish, we can donate your entry fee to the Oban Lifeboat Station.
This event, has throughout donated all profits to the Oban Lifeboat.
Donations from this event totals over £36,000.
Again, we apologise for this decision.
