Isle of Luing Shoot

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the journey over to Luing yesterday to help us celebrate 60 years of Luing Cattle!
What a day! Even the weather decided to behave itself, the sun came out and, in a frankly unprecedented display of cooperation, stayed out all day.

It was fantastic to see so many people make the trip across to our wee island, and we hope you enjoyed seeing the cattle, the farm and a little bit of Luing life… although perhaps with slightly more tractors, trailers and people than Luing life normally involves!

A particularly massive thank you has to go to all the ferry staff, who dealt brilliantly with the considerably larger than normal invasion of foot passengers and the extra work that is involved in getting everyone safely back and forth.
And an equally big thank you to everyone who lives on Luing for putting up with us temporarily turning the island into the agricultural equivalent of rush hour. Roads were busier, tractors and trailers were everywhere, the ferry was considerably more exciting than usual and getting anywhere probably required a little more patience than on your average Friday!
Thank you for bearing with us, helping where needed and generally accepting that the cows had invited a few hundred people round for their birthday.

Finally, thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes, lent a hand, moved cattle and sheep, shifted barriers, parked cars, drove tractors, pulled trailers, answered questions, pointed people in the right direction and generally helped turn months of planning and mild panic into such a brilliant day.

The Observatory on the WildLuing site is where our host will greet you and your guests on arrival and is also where our chef will serve high quality meals and drinks throughout your stay.

The WildSuites are also available during peak holiday season as self catering accommodation.
