If you’re looking for some extra bike training this summer, B-Buddies have some skills nights at Hicks Lodge 🤩

Our Summer Skills Challenge is back this year!
A point-based 5 round series concentrating on skill rather than speed!
Throughout each round riders will be challenged around section 2 and 3 of the pedal and play areas at Hicks Lodge. There will be additional obstacles on each area for further skills tests. Each rider will start with 0 points and each time they put their foot down, their pedal hits the floor or equipment or they don't complete the equipment as challenged to they will gain points. The winner is the rider with the least points. Riders don't have to compete in all 3 rounds however to be in with a chance of winning a medal they have to compete in a minimum of 2 rounds. The best 2 rounds will be taken towards the end result.
The minimum age for this challenge is 4 years old. We're offering an under 9's category as well as an under 16's category, both split with open and girls. The age is determined by the rider's age on the date of the first round. They must then stay in that category throughout.
Sign on is at section 2 of the pedal and play which is next to the picnic area and start of the blue route from 17:45-18:00 when riders are shown around the course. Although we can accept on the day entries we're unable to reserve spaces and there is a higher rate for this of £10 rather than the online price of £8 therefore we recommend entering online in advance.
Online entries close the day before at midday.
Each area will be closed for the time of the challenge only. Only riders taking part can be on the area within these times. No practice laps available. No electric bikes, balance bikes or stabilisers.
Suggested warm up area section 1 of pedal and play.
Schedule for the day:
Sign on 17:45-18:00 (at sections 2)
Section 2 challenge 18:00-18:45
Section 3 challenge 19:00-19:45
Round 1 Wednesday 22nd July
Round 2 Wednesday 5th August
Round 3 Wednesday 19th August

And if that wasn’t enough….
We are swimming again tomorrow!!
We are at Pingles Pool, 9am-10am for our regular coached junior swim session (ages 8-16) and we have an uncoached parent swim lane too.
Our club sessions are open to anyone whether they want to compete in triathlon, duathlon or any of the other multi-sport variations or not. Some of our juniors join sessions to support other sports, some join us for the fun and fitness and others are here for the Swim-Bike-Run.
Details of all our sessions are here:
https://tri-counties.clubpal.app/ and booking is available to members.
Please let us know if you’d like to book a trial and we can add you on.
There is a gala next week so we have a Junior Parkrun meet up 😊

Some awesome swimming from some of our juniors this morning.
I can’t remember how many years we’ve been doing the ‘Intro to Open Water’ with Kenilworth Juniors Tri but it’s a few and always a fabulous session 🤩
Today we did an intro and settling, deep water and Australian starts, some short and longer swims and drafting and overtaking.
Some fabulous confidence from some of youngest swimmers and some great work (and sighting) from some of our veterans!!
Huge thanks to Kenilworth, The Outdoor Swim Company & Cliff lakes for their support 😊

This Weekend it's Swim Sunday!!
As race season has landed for both our Juniors and parents, we want to wish everyone taking part in something this weekend the very best of luck (let us know what it is too!)
For everyone else, we are at Pingles Pool, 9am-10am for juniors aged 8+ and any parents wishing to use our parent swim lane.
If you haven't been before and want to try a session, please drop us a note via messenger. Sessions are open to anyone whether they want to compete or not but we do ask that juniors can swim 50m unaided.
For members, booking is here:
