Dear Bowlers

It will not have gone unnoticed by all Clubs that we will be experiencing some extreme hot weather conditions over the next few days which we all need to be aware of and ensure that adequate actions are taken to protect each and every bowler whom will be playing over the next few days.

All weather reports are predicting extreme weather alerts with temperatures expected to hit in excess of 33 dec C.

From a League Management perspective we can only give advice to clubs on how to proceed, ensure all you players have adequate protection from the heat wear suitable clothing take on regular fluids and take as much shelter as is possible. It is ultimately down to the relevant captains to ascertain the playing conditions of the green and take the relevant action to protect their players. Later starts could be considered as agreed between the relevant captains and breaks through each game for players to take on water.

From a Walsgrave perspective we have polled all our players and asked if players would rather not play - we have subsequently rescheduled some players at their request which we fully respect and understand, we have also arranged for bottles of water to be at the green for both home & away bowlers and will take breaks in play as necessary.

We all have responsibility for the welfare and health of each of our players, please take the time to discuss this within your Club ahead of this weeks fixtures.
