Honouring the legacy of one of Oakridge's founders.

We were proud to unveil a new portrait of Syd Fryer, one of the founders of Oakridge Golf Club, which now takes pride of place in Syd's Bar.

The painting is a fitting tribute to someone whose vision helped shape the club we know today, ensuring his contribution will continue to be remembered by members and visitors for years to come🖼️

This special commission was made possible thanks to the generosity and support of Om Gurung, we are incredibly grateful for his continued support and the role he plays in bringing our communities together.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this tribute possible. It is a wonderful addition to the clubhouse and a reminder of the people whose dedication has helped make Oakridge what it is today.

We’re looking for a member (or small team of members) to take on the role of Junior Organiser and help support our growing junior section, which now has over 25 members.

The role is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and help shape the future of junior golf at Oakridge. Responsibilities would include:

✅ Being a friendly point of contact for junior members and their parents
✅ Helping to organise occasional competitions, matches and activities
✅ Supporting the continued development of junior golf at the club

The role does not require regular committee meetings, and full support will be provided, including guidance around safeguarding and the administrative side of the role.

Whether you’d like to get involved yourself or be part of a small team, we’d love to hear from you.
