One last message from the gaffer ⚽️💜💙

Lads,
This is probably the hardest team talk I’ve ever had to give.
I just want to let you all know that I’ve decided to step down as manager and leave the club.
First of all, I just want to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the last two incredible seasons. What we’ve achieved together is something very few teams ever get to experience.
We won promotion. We won the league and cup double. We’ve only lost three league games in two years. When you actually stop and think about it, that’s an unbelievable achievement.
Every single one of you has played your part in creating something special, and you should all be incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.
This club is exactly where it deserves to be. You’ve earned the right to be playing Step 6 football next season, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll continue to make everyone associated with this club proud.
The reason I’m stepping away isn’t because I don’t love this club or this team. It’s because I have two amazing children, and they deserve more of my time. They’ve sacrificed so much over the last two years to allow me to be part of this journey. Football has given me so much, but family has to come first, and I know this is the right decision.
One thing I want you all to know is that I’ve never really seen you as just my players. I’ve always seen you as mates. We’ve laughed together, celebrated together, picked each other up after setbacks, and created memories that I’ll genuinely never forget.
Every one of you has given me something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. The wins, the dressing-room banter, the celebrations, the hard work, the togetherness—those memories are priceless, and no one can ever take them away.
I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone behind the scenes. To the committee, the volunteers who give up their time week in, week out, and to every single supporter who has backed us home and away—thank you. Football clubs like this don’t exist without people like you, and your support has meant more than you’ll ever know.
I really hope everyone gets behind Steve Mazz and Meaks. They’ll need the same support, belief and togetherness that you’ve all shown me over the last two years. Get behind them, get behind the lads, and keep this club moving forward because there’s no reason this journey can’t continue.
I’ll still be around. I’ll be there supporting whenever I can, and who knows… I might even dust the boots off if you’re ever short and need an old man to make the numbers up.
Finally, I want to say how proud I am to have managed this group. It’s been an absolute privilege from start to finish, and I’ll always look back on these last two years with a smile.
Go and enjoy Step 6. You’ve earned every second of it, and I genuinely couldn’t be happier for every one of you.

🚨 Official Club Statement 🚨

Due to circumstances beyond his control, we announce the departure of our First Team Manager, Scott Litchfield — our Tank 💙💜

Two years ago Tank returned to the club with one clear mission: Step 6 football. He threw everything into it and brought a fresh, positive attitude that lifted everyone around him.

Tank has been an absolute pleasure to have at the club — a true leader, a hard worker, and a big character. So it comes as a massive shock to us all that he has chosen to step back from football management.

Scott has two young kids who have now started their own grassroots football journey. As a busy businessman, something had to give — and family always comes first. While we’re heartbroken to lose him, we completely understand and respect his decision.

From everyone at the club — players, staff, and supporters — we can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for Cotgrave. The door is always open, and we’ll be cheering you on as you smash 20 goals this season 👀⚽

A special thank you from me personally as Adult Secretary — it’s been an absolute pleasure working with and for you.

We will continue pushing the club forward on the strong foundations you and Ste built. With Ste Maz and Meaks at the helm we will continue moving forward
