Wrapped up before everyone else has even found the pitch. Flask in hand. Hood up. Chair sinking slowly into the mud.
There for the early kick-offs, the freezing mornings, the sideways rain and the games where they can barely feel their toes by half-time.
And they’ll still be there next week.
Because that’s grassroots football too.
