One of our favourite things about LBB is that no two dancers journeys to us are the same! Some dancers return after decades away, some have always dreamed of dancing but never got the chance, some have been held back by doubts that they had gone ‘past it’, that they were too unfit, that they didn’t look right, or that ballet just simply wasn’t for them.

We agree! A room full of dancers of all ages, shapes & walks of life who feel welcome & safe enough to let loose, laugh when things don’t quite go to plan, and really give it there all IS inspiring to see & be a part of!

Some things we DON’T care about..

🕺🏼What you wear & if it’s ‘tight enough’(we would much rather you be comfortable and walk through the door, than you not come along because of something as work aroundable as clothing!)

🕺🏼If you have never danced before(that’s why we have beginner class!)

🕺🏼If you can’t do something yet or make mistakes(I would be out of a job if nobody needed to learn anything!)

🕺🏼That you are ‘too old’ to start or return(simply untrue!)

🕺🏼What shape your body is(ballet is for everyBODY)

🕺🏼What method/syllabus you have learnt previously-if any!(Every method has it’s pros & cons, the LBB approach blends methods as we are teaching adult bodies who may have different body structures, limitations & adaptations needed- we’ll help you find your own ballet personality, it’s the fun part!)

🕺🏼If you ask lots of questions(I love a natter and a deep dive into ballet technique, it let’s me nerd out! The BEST classes are where there’s great questioning between students & teacher)

🕺🏼If you have to sit out/observe/adapt some parts of class(ballet can be HARD, learning new things can be HARD- sometimes a breather and a little watch is exactly what we need. Long term injuries/limitations are a thing and we will ALWAYS help you to adapt class if you need us to!)

🧑🏼‍🩰WEDNESDAY BEGINNER TIME CHANGE🩰

Due to annoying roadworks in Lady Bay- we have shifted our Wednesday beginner class time slightly for the next few weeks!🚗⏰

18.00-19.00

Hopefully the fact that it’s now the summer holidays(in theory less people on the roads!), and that there’s some extra wiggle room in the timing after work that it works a little better🤩

Ballet has a reputation for being quite judgey doesn’t it?🤔

Our motto is ‘serious about ballet but not about ourselves!’😅 We love a good giggle, and pride ourselves on our studio feeling welcoming, safe & a place to go for it without fear of judgement!👯‍♂️

We’re too busy worrying about alllll of the different moving parts that you have to think about when dancing, and our personal favourite ‘I’ll be so ready for my dinner after all of this hard work’🍝 to worry about what anyone else is doing in the room!
