What a fantastic, action-packed event! Last Friday we were at hosted by Kate Finlay, Andrew Browne and Ben Wilson, to showcase how Virtual Reality can be used in Design Education.
Across the day, we ran a series of VirtualSpeech and demonstrations to teachers and technicians from across the country, introducing them to the world of VR and how the technology can be used to support NEAs, design exploration and soft-skill development.
In the second half of the day, we also hosted ‘An introduction to Virtual Reality for Design Education’, an interactive workshop breaking down what Virtual Reality is, why schools and colleges need to utilise VR and how they can do so with the support of Mesh Training. A huge thank you to those that took part in the session and had a go with the bicycle back-pack activity! For those that weren’t able to attend, the session was recorded and we’re just in the process of patching all our clips together, so be sure to follow our page to watch it first when it goes live!
We can’t wait to welcome everyone next year in Nottingham!
Save the date!

Mesh Training Ltd.
We provide in-person Gravity Sketch training to the UK's creative sector. Industry orientated. Budget Friendly. Expert Led.
From initial ideation to final design, can transform how your students develop, conceptualise and refine their ideas. In this latest ‘Design with me’ video by Anya, watch how her design of a Bike GPS rapidly develops, without losing its identity or her core design principals:
Investigate & Design: Synonymous with 2D sketching, VR enables her to rapidly ideate but also supports form exploration in 3D before she moves to CAD
Make & Evaluate: By sketching around a digital bike model at 1:1 scale, she can ensure her model is to the correct scale and also conduct initial ergonomic tests before moving to 3D printing and physical prototyping. In a collaborative space, she can also present her work to tutors and technicians to get their feedback instantly.
Want to experience this workflow firsthand? Come and see us for a live, interactive demonstration at;
The at De Montfort University this Friday 10th July (tickets sales have now closed)
Or at Pearson Labs in London for ‘The Future of D&T: VR, AI, 3D Printing and Beyond’ on Thursday 16th July.

During Graduate Fashion Week, our stand was buzzing with students and educators jumping into the headsets to try out our three core workshop pillars. We designed these sessions to show exactly how Gravity Sketch streamlines the entire design pipeline through three steps: Create, Collaborate, and Present.
Here is exactly what attendees got to experience:
CREATE: Silhouette Remix: Participants were tasked to explore how old garments can be used and manipulated to make something new
COLLABORATE: Virtual Fit Review: Attendees stepped into a shared virtual studio space to review a garment’s fit, leave live 3D annotations, and make design adjustments together in real time, proving how easily teams can eliminate physical sampling waste.
PRESENT: Showcase Curation: Participants learned how to build and curate their own immersive, digital exhibition spaces to present their final collections to buyers, tutors, or global audiences in a whole new way.
The feedback all week was incredible, with students completely blown away by how natural and efficient the digital workflow feels. 🚀

How can Virtual Reality add true value to the fashion design workflow? 👗
Releasing 10th of June!
Join Anya Wright and Erica Horne as they sit down to discuss how Virtual Reality is challenging and evolving current design pipelines.
In this talk, Anya and Erica will be diving into how Virtual Reality aids:
Real-Scale Collaboration: Gravity Sketch creates a shared digital space where teams can review garments at a true 1:1 scale, making communication clearer and fit reviews more efficient.
Sustainable Efficiency: By allowing designers to test bold ideas and adjust fits earlier in the process, VR drastically reduces global sampling waste and speeds up production timelines.
Future-Focused Innovation: While physical garments remain essential, integrating this immersive technology bridges the gap between digital workflows and sustainable industry innovation.
We’ll also be taking you inside Gravity Sketch for a live demonstration to showcase exactly how this 3D sketching and modeling software seamlessly integrates into a modern design workflow.
Whether you're an educator looking to future-proof your curriculum or a designer ready to streamline your pipeline, you won't want to miss this conversation.
✨ Keep an eye on our page this Wednesday for the full release link!

We understand how challenging it can be to provide every student with the personalised feedback and interview practice they need to feel truly prepared.
That’s why we use VirtualSpeech to give students a realistic, experience to practice and prepare for their interviews and project presentations as many times as they need.
Through the platform, students get instant feedback on their performance, including tone of voice, pacing and clarity of delivery. It turns a massive logistical hurdle into a scalable and valuable solution, ensuring every student is ‘interview ready’ before they ever step into the real interview.
