New signing Rory Finneran is straight into the XI 👊

Newcastle United midfielder Rory Finneran has joined us on a season-long loan 🤝
The 18-year-old, who won his first senior cap for the Republic of Ireland in May, is eligible for this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One clash with Burton Albion.
Director of Football Richard Montague said: “Rory is an exciting young prospect who has already shown his promise in the men’s game by earning international recognition.
“He’s a combative midfielder with plenty of energy and a strong range of passing.
“We thank Newcastle for trusting us with Rory’s development and welcome him to Meadow Lane.”
Born in Manchester, Finneran rose through the ranks at Blackburn Rovers and became their youngest ever player when, aged 15 years, 10 months and eight days, he came off the bench in an FA Cup match against Cambridge United in 2024.
Later that year he was signed by Newcastle, where his continued development led to him making his senior debut for Ireland in a friendly against Grenada in May – an achievement that followed several years of progression through the Irish youth ranks.
Finneran will wear squad number 27.

Supporters attending this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Burton Albion will see Road Angel’s logo proudly displayed on our newly-refurbished dugouts and tunnel.
Based in Nottingham, Road Angel believe every journey should end the same way it begins: safely. For more than two decades they’ve been building the technology that makes that possible - pushing the boundaries of what driver safety and vehicle intelligence can do, one breakthrough at a time.
They’ve placed more than 5million devices into the hands of drivers across Britain, protecting them in the moment and giving them the confidence to go further.
Road Angel’s engineering doesn't just meet the standard - it sets it: trusted by OEM manufacturers and built into new vehicles from the factory floor.
Gary Digva, Road Angel’s Founder & Chief Innovation Officer, said: "Nottingham built us both. Notts County and Road Angel - two names from the same city, both refusing to settle for second best.
“We're proudly headquartered in Nottingham and everything we build carries that same relentless drive - to protect, innovate and move people forward.
“This partnership with Notts County isn't just a sponsorship. It's our mission, coming home.”
