Nottingham Rowing Club

For the first time in its history, Nottingham Rowing Club took home the Senior Victor Ludorum at the British Rowing Club Championships over the weekend, with standout performances across both the men's and women's squads. This historic achievement caps off a hugely successful season for the senior squad and cements NRC's status as one of the country's leading provincial rowing clubs. We are incredibly proud of every senior athlete who have represented the club to such a high standard throughout the season. Congratulations to everyone involved, including senior squad coaches Dez Atkins and Digger Johnson.

🔵 Marlow Regatta 🟡

Our senior men took to Dorney Lake over the weekend at Marlow Regatta for their final preparations for Henley Royal Regatta, entering a Champ Coxed 4, Tier 2 Coxless Four and Champ 1x.

Our Coxed 4, in their first race as a combination, gained some valuable race experience and showed their speed coming into the tail end of the season, producing a commanding performance in the C final to take the win.

The Coxless four continued to build on their strong results from the Metropolitan Regatta, placing highly in the Tier 2 4-s category and finishing 7th in the C final. Finally, our 1x, Dave Smith, performed strongly in a highly competitive field, reaching the A final where he eventually finished 8th.

All crews will now turn their attention to Henley Qualifiers this Friday, with greater speed to come following these impressive results. 🏹

🔵 Henley Womens Regatta 2026 🟡

Our senior women’s squad sent two Aspirational Doubles to take to the Henley stretch in style at Henley Women’s Regatta, with both crews progressing through the time trial and into the side by side racing over the weekend.

Our 'A' boat of Molly Varley and Cathy Beaumont won their first race of the weekend by a comfortable 3 1/4 length margin, before unfortunately being knocked out in the Quarter Finals by a very strong Netherlands crew.

Our 'B' crew of Rowena Hems and Annie Beaumont put down a great performance in an incredibly competitive field, unfortunately bowing out in the Round of 16. We are all incredibly proud of how both crews represented the club.

Both doubles will now combine forces this week to take on the Henley stretch once again, this time in the Quad at HRR Qualifiers this Friday!

Last weekend the National Watersports Centre played host to the British Masters Championships. Two days of tight and competitive racing saw the club walk away with a fantastic haul of medals across multiple events.
Huge congratulations to everyone who represented the club so brilliantly on home turf. 🔵🟡
