🦁 GB U24 2027 Player Applications are Live!

We’re pleased to invite applications from players wishing to represent Great Britain / UK Ultimate (Open, Mixed and Women’s) at the WFDF World Under 24 Championships 2027. All players with more than 3 months playing experience are welcome to apply.

Application Deadline Monday 31st August at 23:59.

WU24 Championship Date and Location
As recently announced, the 2027 World Under 24 Championships are planned to take place in Kamisu, Ibaraki, Japan from June 19th –26th 2027.

Trials
The selection process will comprise 3 phases: application, pre-trials, and main trials. In the first step, players are invited to apply to attend pre-trials, rather than to one particular team. One day pre-trials will be split into regional sessions in order to try to maximise the geographic accessibility. Pre-trials will not be split into male-matching and female-matching sessions. Each pre-trial will each include open, women’s, and mixed play. Successful trialists will be invited to the main trial in December 2026, from which squads for each division will be selected.

Players who are unable to participate at any of the pre-trial dates may still apply, but should indicate this clearly when applying.

Pre-trials are planned as follows:

- Scotland: Sat 17th Oct 11:00 - 15:00 - [Wallyford Learning Campus, Edinburgh]
- North of England: Sun 25th Oct 12:00-16:00 [Oldham Academy, Manchester]
- Midlands: Sat Oct 24th 11:00-15:00 - [Uni of Nottingham, Nottingham]
- South-East: Sat Oct 24th 11:00-15:00 - [Uni of Hertfordshire, Hatfield]
- South-West: Sun Oct 25th 10:00-14:00 - [Oasis Academy John Williams, Bristol]

Players will be allocated to regional sessions on the basis of the location stated in their application. Capacity limits may mean that some players are asked to attend a session other than the one closest to them.

Main trials will be hosted in one location with players trialing to be part of the three GB U24 Squads. The logistics of the main trial will be confirmed ASAP with applicants. We expect this to be a 2 day trial on the weekend of 12-13 December.

The 2026 World Junior Ultimate Championships begins tomorrow! U20 teams from around the world will compete in Logrono, Spain from 11 - 18 July.
