A Unique Design for a Unique Location at Lower Leas Coastal Park πŸŒŠπŸ–οΈ

Folkestone & Hythe District Council trusted Proludic with reimagining a much-loved play area sitting beneath a coastal cliff face. The design had to reflect the environments rich natural surroundings whilst remaining a robust and inclusive play area.

🌴Taking nods from the coastal site’s exotic flora and fauna Proludic developed a colossal Bespoke timber climbing structure, rubbing posts and colourful plaques celebrating the natural surroundings with a downloadable activity sheet for children.

The self-proclaimed β€œlargest free adventure playground in the South-East” opened in July to tremendous fanfare as families from all around the local area flocked to sample the new regenerated park! (And enjoy a free ice cream 🍦)

🌳 Transforming play at Northgate Recreation Ground

As part of a wider programme for Crawley Borough Council Proludic transformed Northgate Recreation Ground into a more inclusive, accessible and welcoming play and youth space.

Inspired by the site’s leafy surroundings, the new woodland-themed design includes equipment for toddlers, juniors and teenagers, improved drainage, accessible wetpour surfacing and four slides for different ages and abilities. πŸ›

The project also incorporated 369mΒ² of Nike Grind surfacing ♻️, helping divert thousands of shoes from landfill.

A great example of collaborative design creating a durable, all-weather space for the whole community. API : Association of Play Industries

The Proludic mining tower at Gedling Country Park, Nottingham, provided a fantastic vantage point for watching last night’s eclipse. πŸŒ’βœ¨

For those lucky enough to be at the top of the tower, it was an especially memorable place to enjoy this spectacular sight.

And once the eclipse was over, the play continued into the early evening, with children and families making the most of this much-loved space. πŸ›

The installation is now approaching its 10th anniversary. Still, it looks in tip-top condition β€” a great example of how thoughtful design, quality materials and long-term play value can come together.

The mining theme also has a strong connection to the site's history and heritage. ⛏️ Gedling Country Park was once home to Gedling Colliery, and the play tower and its striking headstocks pay tribute to the structures that once stood here, carrying miners up and down from deep underground.

Creating play spaces that tell the story of their surroundings and give a meaningful nod to local heritage is something we’re incredibly passionate about at Proludic. 🌳
